Hi, on my current Firefox setup, I have a search engine shortcut in my Top Sites on a New Tab page. It's a quick one for Amazon, I can't figure out how to add others though. I saw reference to it in this old support issue, but I can't find how to do that anymore.

When I type a letter in the URL space, there is a drop down selection of previous sites I have used. Some contain names of people I have searched and I don't want any embarrassment if said persons happen to use my PC. Is it possible to delete the list, or, perhaps better, delete the ones with names?

I'm using Windows 10 with FF x64.

I continued reading on FireFox, and found that there is a "Refresh" procedure that might work, AND IT WORKED!

In my "Themes" section viewing the add-ons manager, I can view all the themes I have downloaded, and I would really like to disable the recommendations. They are not relevant to me, and they take up space and are a distraction from those I am interested in. Is there a way to disable the "Recommended Themes" section???

Title is self explanatory. When I try to take and save a screenshot in my browser, either when right clicking and selecting Take Screenshot or using CTRL + SHIFT + S it always cuts off some of the image I'm trying to take. Any ideas on how to get this fixed?

I have just upgraded to Firefox version 123. Now whenever I start Firefox on any of my profiles, it will immediately or almost immediately display a "Welcome back" popup stating that "Here’s a quick reminder that you can keep your favorite indie browser just one click away." and provides a button to make the browser the default one. That's exceedingly annoying - I can understand that Firefox wants to notify my once in a while, but this happens at least once a day, probably more often than that. I looked over the source code and got that it is a "spotlight" feature, but I failed to find any settings that would turn it off. Any idea how can I disable this forever?

Example of what i want to do:

I'm browsing Website and i click and open a link. Examples:

I want Firefox to automatically delete "-this-site-doesnt-exist-" or "-this-is-also-an-example-" whenever i open any of them. So opening them would instead open:

https://Website.com/P/-68290.html or https://Website.com/P/-34846.html

Can this be done?

On my Macbook air (m1 2020 14.3.1 (23D60)) /etc/hosts is ignored by Firefox 123

i've tried multiple offered (old) solutions from stack but non work.

FAILED ATTEMPTS:

• DNS over https -> off
• network.trr.excluded-domains ... tried to add the domains in the dns over https exeptions ... didn't work either
• added the domains to network.trr.excluded-domains
• cleared cache
• restart ff
• migrating all my /etc/hosts config from multiple domains on a single line to separate lines did. Hope this helps someone.
• network.ttr.mode = 5
• sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder in the terminal

Background: I run my own server and I cannot access them over the internet if I am on the same network (rounter dissallows this) This is annoying as I cannot develop via my laptop.

/etc/hosts is changed and in the terminal all (ssh etc...) works fine.

What is the proper way of doing this these days?

Maybe my cat walked over a certain key and disabled something or the new version of firefox won't let me cycle through previous typed chat messages anymore. while streaming on twitch i have to repeat certain chat messages which i did by typing the up and down arrows. lately it doesn't work in firefox anymore (OBS has a chat box which still has this function tho) is there an option to disable/enable cycling through previously typed text and which key does that?

Double page (side-by-side) viewing of PDF documents in Firefox (Windows), involves:

   go to View in the top menu, select Page Display, and choose “Two-Up”

How do you view such double pages in Firefox (Mac), since it seems not to have a "Page Display" facility?

How do I add a link to the start page that shows when you open a new tab? I've read support docs and I don't have a "pin icon" on my toolbar... I'm on MacOS (M1) and latest (Feb '24) FireFox...... how can it be so non-intuitive? I can't find an option anywhere...

How to SWITCH TO TAB when i enter something in address bar and I have this page opened? When I search my question, I get answers like "how to DISABLE...", but I need to ENABLE this feature. Firefox 122. When I type in Address bar something like "google.com" and I already have opened this site in another tab, I want FF to switch this tab instead open a new tab/window. Audio has stopped working in Firefox only. Audio is working for Windows/PC system alerts and playback in all apps and browsers except Firefox. Perhaps after a system update....I'm supplying the answer to this in replies. How to go to the next page on the same website (not tab) but pagination with shortcut keys?

Starting on page 1 I want to go to page 2 on the same website using the keyboard.

How can I get rid of an automatic fill of websites visited. When I go to the address bar and type in an address, I want to get rid of a website as I have no interest in having that automatically show up on my address web sites. I am using the most up to date Firefox version on a Windows 10 Microsoft Surface Pro computer.
