Setting the default to blocking everything, erasing all history, etc. - and then trying to allow specific sites in Preferences: Privacy and Security: Manage Permissions: I put in the site - say https://google.com, "allow" and "allow for session" do the same thing.

All allowed websites are forgotten when FireFox is restarted, and I must enter them in again - a real hassle.
