why firefox install updates even though that has been disabled in previous version?
Why firefox force updates itself without the consent of the user from version 42 to 62. It has been a long time between 42 and 62. Yet, firefox is so clumsy not to ask the user of updates. A user cannot keep track of his changes for 2.5 years. In this case firefox should have the courtesy to ask the customer to ins tall updates but it does not. Slyness. Including google.

Type (or paste) in the address bar :
about:preferences#general and press Enter
Or : 3-bar menu (or Tools) => Options => General
Under "Firefox Updates" you can check :
"Check for updates but let you choose to install them"
