When closing Firefox version 4 it 'just closes', no option to save the pages shown or the multiple windows in use ... alternative right now to 'crash' the computer as the 'restore' facility then clicks in but frankly that is a bad option ... please bring back the option to 'save' and then recall when next time using Firefox ...

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

Another possibility is to use:

Thank you, very swift and solved the problem ... the automatic window option however would be a better choice, like it was in FireFox 3 ... Still, love working with this browser and have stopped IE almost entirely ... W.

You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle the value with a double left-click.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
