I wanted to back up my Thunderbird profile so I searched for %appdata% and found that I have 6 different profiles. I'm the only one using this computer... why 6 ?? Besides the usual name of the profiles (numbers and characters), some have dot default after the name and some have dot default-release. I didn't create these... where did they come from and which one contains my primary profile with my email folders, etc.?? Thanks in advance.

Launch TB, select Help/More Troubleshooting, click about:profiles at the bottom of Application Basics. The profile in use is indicated. If you don't need the others, which were probably created during a faulty update, they can be deleted.
