My emails when I click on Delete get a red X beside hem but are not moved to the Trash folder and stay in the Inbox with the red X and a line through the header. How do I get them moved out of the Inbox and to the Trash folder?

Hi, You probably have your account set to mark messages as deleted, instead of moving them. Here's how to set it back.

  1. Right-click on the account name, and select Settings.
  2. Select Server Settings.
  3. Under When I delete a message, set it to Move it to this folder.
  4. Click OK.

If the problem still occurs, we'll need some more info about your Thunderbird setup.

  1. Go to [=] > Help > Troubleshooting Information then click Copy text to Clipboard.
  2. Go to https://pastebin.com and go to Edit > Paste to paste the info from your Troubleshooting Information page.
  3. In Firefox, click on the three dots to the right of the address, and select Copy Link.
  4. Open a reply to this post, and go to Edit > Paste to paste the link to your troubleshooting information.
