Brand new install gets untrusted connection error for every site I try except for mozilla.org. But mozilla.org loads only as text.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox twice. Deleted the profile certificate file three times. Tried deleting the server certificates also. Nothing works. The only site I can go to is mozilla.org and that site only loads as formatted text. Avast shows no viruses or malware. Windows 8 is completely up to date. No extensions or addons or anything like that on firefox as it is a brand new install.

hi, please try to disable https scanning within avast:

  1. Open the Avast dashboard on the affected system.
  2. Select Settings from the left sidebar menu.
  3. Switch to Active Protection.
  4. Click on Customize next to Web Shield.
  5. Uncheck the "Enable HTTPS Scanning" option and click ok.
