hello sarvesh, all other browser windows and instances have to be closed before you run:

firefox.exe -p

otherwise just another firefox window will open up, like you have described it.

Hello Sarvesh,

Close the application and make sure that it is not running in the background. You can close the application with task manager too (in worst cases some times you have to restart you machine and if you do so after restarting machine don't open Firefox)

Press Win+R and in the box type exactly this (Without quotes)

  firefox.exe -p (p is small here don't capitalize it)

and click OK. or you can use this "firefox -ProfileManager" (without quotes) (Here P and M is capitalize). Make sure that you type it the exactly same. Do not use "-profile manager" (do not add a space).

If the Profile Manager window does not appear, you may need to specify the full path of the Firefox program, enclosed in quotes; for example:

On 32-bit Windows: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p On 64-bit Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p

(The above examples are default installation directory locations. You can also find the executable file location by right-clicking the desktop (or Start menu) icon for your Mozilla program, selecting "Properties", going to "Shortcut" tab, and then copying the "Target" location, as shown in this screenshot. )
