I have a recurring but random problem when I reply to an email with a distribution list. TB seems to select an email address from the CC addresses on the original email rather than my mailbox address. example - mail received from user A with copy to B C D E. I reply to all and sometimes the sender address used by the system is one of the CC addresses (ie B C D or E). All users are getting the message but they think it was sent by somebody else. This could be a sensitive problem if I was making a report and then wondered why there was no follow up. Is there a setting somewhere that decides which sender address I use? I use two accounts, one is my internet provider (BT) and the other is Gmail. So far, I have only been advised of Gmail errors. Thanks in advance.

I cannot select multiple messages in any folder and move them to any other folder/ Filters will not work either.

As an example, I select 3 messages if my inbox and try to drag them to trash

I get an error popup that says "The messages could not be moved or copied to folder 'Trash on Local Folders' because writing to folder failed. To gain disk space, from the File menu, first choose Empty Trash, and then choose Compact Folders, and then try again."

Trash folder had been compacted and emptied.

2)I haven't used Thunderbird for sometime. I used to click on the icon and a standard window would appear featuring messages, new and oldbut that doesn't happen anymore. Nie rozumiem z jakiego powodu mogłem dostać blokadę, ponieważ nie wysyłam aż tylu wiadomości, żeby można je było uznać za spam. Co mogę zrobić w takiej sytuacji, aby jak najszybciej odblokować swoje konto? Proszę o jak najszybszą pomoc, możliwość wysyłania wiadomości jest mi bardzo potrzebna. Pozdrawiam.

Bitte sagen Sie mir, wie ich das Problem lösen kann.

In dem Fenster habe ich keine Möglichkeiten die Links an zu klicken, da dann das Fenster weiß wird. Ich kann es nur wegklicken, es kommt aber innerhalb von 5 Minuten wieder. Oder ich melde mich mit google an, was ich aber nicht möchte.

I read that thunderbird works with Microsoft 365 and modern authentication. I tested with Microsoft 365 accounts and it worked fine. The problems come with an accounting of Microsoft 365 operated by 21vianet service.

I configured according to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202 with the IMAP and SMTP settings from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/settings-for-pop-and-imap-access-for-microsoft-365-operated-by-21vianet-ca51235d-afc5-4d7d-843c-3616a37d5771

It complaints "The IMAP server partner.outlook.cn does not support the selected authentication method. Please change the 'Authentication method' in the 'Account Settings | Server settings.'"

In SMTP settings there is no option to configure OAuth2

I have been a Firefox and Thunderbird Beta user for decades and all is well until I installed the latest Thunderbird 127 (Beta) It's suppose to be a Final release. Now I get a large ad/notice, informing me to use this version at my own risk and to download the older, stable release.

See attached image. The add takes up a large amount of space on the email client and is very annoying.

How do I get rid of it, never to see it, again?

Each time I try to open a .msg file to view it, I am asked to log in to Thunderbird. Is there any way of just viewing the messages without requiring an associated email account? The messages relate to an investigation I am conducting and I do not own the recipient's account.

My email inbox is really a task list. I find that I email myself items that I need to work on so that they are in the inbox. It's a tiny thing, but it would be so much more convenient to be able to view/edit the task list alongside the email inbox. I organize my emails with the listing of emails full-height on the screen with the preview window to the right of that. I would like to be able to see the Task List to the right of the preview pane. At this point, it appears that only the Today pane can be shown there. This requested feature is supported in Outlook, but the Outlook "task list" is not as nice as Thunderbird's because their "tasks" are just emails that have been flagged - not very useful. Thanks for your consideration.

It has been one year, and you still have not fixed the multiselect functionality that was ruined with your Supernova "update" (which is worse in almost all aspects btw). Can you at least tell us WHEN you plan to release the fix since you locked the comments to block the countless negative ones? Is it so hard for your UX team to understand that removing multiselect functionality is like removing Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+V and set the correct priority???

I've just started getting error messages that I need to enter my password to send emails. I've tried that but it still keeps saying unable to connect to the server. This has been happening for about two days now. I've tried updating Thunderbird, restarting Thunderbird and restarting my PC. None of this has worked. I made no changes to my system, software or home network. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave
