Hello! I want to work with burp suit application but for work with it the foxy proxy need. when I turned on the foxy proxy it always gives me different kind of error messages such ass "The proxy server is refusing connections". I tried everything I could but to no avail.

However, I am finding that the image will not be uploaded here at the Mozilla Firefox browser support page. The image is less than 500 KB. I have tried .png & .jpg. Could someone please assist me? Recently I have noticed that when I want to display HTML source of the page Firefox asks me to log to the site once again. WHY? I am already logged in. The page is already loaded and displayed. So why it needs my password again?????

In some cases the page is actually loaded once again which can result in different content being displayed as "a page" and different as "a source" (if there is a dynamic insertion on the page changed on every get). But sometimes it shows old, cached source while the rendered page is already changed. I know that I can see actual content by using the Inspector but "show the source" function was more convenient. Now I can not believe that the "source" shown is a source of the actual "page" Such misfeatures make the function totally useless.

I'm using Firefox 91.4.1esr (64-bit) from Debian repositories on Bullseye. Every time I open Firefox, a window with a greeting message appears ("Say hello to a new Firefox"), and it doesn't matter if, as asked by that window, I choose a theme or not. Is this issue related to my settings? Is this a Debian issue? Is it possible to stop that window from reappearing?

i opened firefox (v.95) and tried opening up my email and found that all my saved passwords were gone from firefox on my computer. it said i should crate a firefox account to get my logins back so i did and i still could not access any of my web logins. so i searched the help pages. opened up my profile n made a backup of my key3, key4, n loginjson files, downloaded v.91 firefox esr and copied my key3 file into a new profile.

so i still dont have my web logins ... n now i have an outdated version of firefox with none of my bookmarks either. im sick of troubleshooting n my wifi is almost out for the month.

how do i get my web logins and bookmarks back so i dont have to spend hundreds of hours recreating them?

Just paid $150.00 for a remote session from my computer store. Advice is: My older computer (2004)and it's graphic capabilities aren't compatible with newest FF. So I'll stick with older version (9) until I decide to get new computer. Firefox is my preference, but if I update, it's likely to break again. Please tell me how to stop all update notices. It is maddening. Or, if you can do it, please do. I don't want to use the others. It has crashed twice, just FF, in the last few days. A system restore saved me, but I updated and lost it. Can you help this not wealthy person? I thank you for your fine product, and your help.

In my cfg file for firefox i use a custom DNS server (Quad 9 which uses 9.9.9.9). It appears this causes DNS Leaks while using a VPN.

The line is this: lockPref("network.trr.uri", "https://dns.quad9.net/dns-query"); Obviously instead of writing 9.9.9.9 this line uses the above shown adress.

If i want to use cloudflare which is 1.1.1.1 instead of 9.9.9.9 what adress do i have to use? Still haven't figured this out...

I have 3 different profiles and I'd like to have a visual indication of the currently active profile. I've found that using themes is the best option (a red theme for production, green for test, grey for default) but I can't prevent Firefox Sync to sync the active theme between my profiles.

I have set both services.sync.prefs.sync.extensions.activeThemeID and services.sync.prefs.sync.lightweightThemes to false and restarted all my Firefox profiles.

After a while, all windows/profiles are synced to the same theme.

Are those settings really read by Firefox Sync ? I'm on Windows 10, Firefox 91.10.0esr (32-bit)

I can't open anything in the browser. It always says "secure connection failed" and I cannot reach anything get anywhere within the use of the browser. No matter what I do try. I have looked at a number of workarounds posted online but nothing seems to work. I need some help. I use Windows 10

This is a comment, not a question. I really only want to applaud Firefox and all the volunteers that contribute their thoughts and efforts in writing solutions, explanations and more to the many areas that need to be addressed, especially newcomers to the world of computers and Firefox. I was not raised in a computer environment, in that I am old, born in 1953. Everything and anything I know is from being self taught by jumping online and giving it a go, stumbling around on the web until things made sense to me. Volunteers at Firefox have been invaluable as they have been my teachers almost from the start. In addition to just turning 69 years of age and a bit out of the range of "computer age" I had undiagnosed learning disabilities (ADD, dyslexia, etc) which made classic classroom learning very difficult. With Firefox (and others) volunteers, I am able to take my time, going over what I read several times until it sticks and I can move on to take in a little more knowledge each time I logged (and still log) on. So thank you to all the volunteers who share their expertise and thank you to Firefox for highlighting the names of the authors and teachers and posting them at the end of their articles. Firefox does not just talk the talk, they walk that walk, and stand as a fine example of how well community, helping out and giving of yourself makes for a better world. Without naming names, there are others who now prefer to remain more self-serving in their efforts, pumping up their version of "security" by becoming CENSORS TIMES TEN, limiting and blocking any and all comments that do not conform to that company's beliefs. Like I said, I prefer not to name names....but "YIPEE !" Thank God they are the exception and not the rule. Ain't that right, "YIPEE !" or whatever your real name is ! As they say...'DO YOU !" Firefox. Keep up the great work and again, thanks to all of the many contributors who volunteers their time, energy and expertise in spelling things out, helping to teach Old Knuckleheads like me, how to follow the maps you draw in verbiage, that is the standard for great teaching methods in the many, many areas of computing that I personally got a late start on. There are multiple screenshots attached below, 2 of them showing setting marked in red. Those settings are pre-configured with the firefox.cfg file. I would like to also pre-configure a list of other settings. You can also find those other settings below.

Anyways, i remember someone from this forum told me there is no "official documentation" for the firefox settings which are listed in about:config. Is there an "inofficial documentation"? If you could reply with the exact setting that i have to change according to the screenshot attached below that would be awesome, otherwise an URL for some sort of documentation would be welcome..

Basically all the setting i want to change exists and can be manually edited using the firefox settings, but theoretically could be easily pre-configured with the firefox.cfg.

All i need are setting-names/ids.

I went to the official add-on site and I did not see the Add-on named "multi containers" made by Firefox themselves, yet there were about 6 pages of add-on's similar named 'container' but not the one I wanted which is called 'multi containers' add-on.

Zorin16-Linux version 99.0 Ubuntu Canonical 1.0, -found in Help/About. Firefox recognition of version below says 91.0. Also have Linux Mint 19.3 (Tricia). Computer 15YO Dell Dimension 900.

I've had no problems with Linux Firefox for many years. I do not use any other Non-Linux OSes. Linux Mint updates Firefox regularly and so do I in that OS. I'm currently in a free version of Zorin which doesn't seem to push out updates, so my Zorin Firefox may be sadly out of date.

At any rate, today in Zorin, when I went to several of the bigger online sales platforms, they refused to accept my Firefox and suggested Chrome, Opera, and Safari; Target suggested Firefox.

Went to Mozilla to try and upgrade, but it didn't offer the Linux browser automatically when it read my computer. I was only offered the Windows browser. This may be because the computer is an old Dell Windows machine that I converted to Linux or it may not. I've never had this happen before.

Yesterday in Linux Mint, in which Firefox is upgraded at least weekly, the same thing happened once with a big online retailer. They said my browser was outdated and unsafe.

What's going on? I'm wondering if Linux OSes are simply not being accepted when the big retailers are doing software upgrades, or is something going on with Firefox?

It's been a while since I used firefox on my Mac. Now I just downloaded it because I need it for my studies.

Now I have a really big issue. Since I installed it over a week before, I had to set my bookmarks, privacy settings and other things and my passwords for several times now. Now I'm a little bit upset, I hope you can understand that, it's nothing personal, but I don't want to waste my time for that. I never had a browser with such a bad user data management. My data got deleted several times. Today it happened again and after I noticed it I closed firefox and after reopening I got a message (it was the first one) that I have to install an update. I confirmed the message and updated it. Everything was lost again. I'm a little bit angry now. I had to google it and wasted even more time on that topic. Now I found out that firefox is setting up different user profiles after each update. As I described, I only had one update message to confirm until now. The ff-help guide suggested, I should look it up in the profile settings and I did. Now there are 8!!! different user profiles. There is no date displayed when the user profiles where created, so it took even more time to look every single profile up, to explore if anyone of them contains my user data, but not a single one did. Now I have to waste even more time again, to write you this issue and possibly wait days for an answer. You can image how happy I am right now. I'm not. Now I got several questions and I please you to answer any single one:

1. Why is a new user profile going to get created when I install an update? 2. Why is ff the only browser who creates user profiles automaticly without my permission? 3. What advantage do I take as a user from that? 4. Are you going to fix it or is this the ultimate future solution for firefox now? Then I definetly have to search another solution and to use another browser. This is really annoying, can you understand that?
