Slow download speed w/ Firefox (even slower than IE10)
My download speeds are running (using http://testmy.net/) significantly slower w/Firefox than other browsers on my computer (4 mbps slower than even IE10!). Have reset Firefox to default, downloaded latest Firefox update, disabled add-ons, nothing helps.
I'm running the Yahoo edition of Firefox (don't know how I ended up w/ that). Would that make a difference (have removed all reference to Yahoo that I can find)? I have an earlier version of Firefox on my wife's laptop and that runs 60% faster than the Firefox on the desktop.
Anyone have any suggestions on how I can speed Firefox up?

Does it make a difference if you enable multithreading?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that makes a difference.
