Downloaded TB, it made 1 of 4 'in-boxes' its default,3still OutlookE
Windows XP- administrator. Downloaded TB; it migrated 1 out of 4 mail-boxes and made the wrong one it's default; other boxes still Outlook Express. New TB box fully functional, except It pick the incorrect default box. Have read every instruction on your planet, have not found anything addressing 4 e-mail boxes. Please help. If you only want to change the default mail account - the one which displays at the top will be the current default:
- 'Tools' > 'Account Settings'
- select the mail account
- click on 'Account Actions'
- click on 'set as Default'
- click on ok
If you want to organise the order of the accounts you can use an Addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/manually-sort-folders/
Additional info: If you are viewing emails in account 'A' and then choose to Write an email it will use the email address for account 'A'.
If you are viewing emails in account 'B' and then choose to Write an email it will use the email address for account 'B', so you would need to change the 'FROM' email address manually if you need the email to use the 'A' account email address'.
