After recent update of Thunderbird the app on Windows it notifies with systray icon and sound about incoming message that is assigned as unwanted, marked as read, moved to local trash folder by filters. I can't fix it, so I get real time notification of spam. This worked properly for me before the recent update. Suggestion to fix: either to add sound options in filters, or/and remove sound for marked as read, unwanted or moved to trash mail. Possibly it's due to notification check moved before filtering, so all new messages regardless of flags are "sounding the alarm". I'll wait with annoyance for any fix of this, cheers.
