Clean install of Firefox v91.8.0

more options

After upgrading to v91.8.0 I experienced a multitude of issues: unwanted folders, duplicate folders, incoming mail going directly to trash, and more.

How can I do a clean install of v91.8.0, getting rid of all existing formatting and data?

Hi, do you mean Thunderbird? A moderator can slide this over to that forum, but I don't know whether they can fix the subject line.

I am having a similar problem. I am having a problem with Moodle on three separate computers, but my Firefox profile is on all three computers. I have uninstalled Firefox and tried to do a completely new installation, but every time i do this, it re-imports my settings, etc. I do NOT want this to happen. I want a clean installation, then I will re-import my bookmarks only. I am hoping that will solve the problem. How do I do this?

Create a secondary profile and do NOT connect it to your Firefox Account. Here's how:

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Moodle, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.

Scroll down to Moodle and click its Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system to get a clean test.

Does Moodle work any better in the new profile?

When you are done with Moodle, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. Come back to about:profiles to launch that separate profile again.
