Install Every Time
Why do I have to install Firefox every time I open it?

This did not fix the problem. This is what I have done in the past. The problem continues. If I close the app and start it again, I have to go through the startup process all over again.
Make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Image) file.
Open the Firefox Disk Image file and drag the Firefox application to the Applications folder on your hard drive.
You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the Disk Image, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.
You can also check the about:profiles and possibly cleanup profiles you no longer need.
If the above doesn't help then it is possible hat there is a problem with the profiles.ini file that registers all profile.
You can check the read/write permission and owner of profiles.ini or try to remove this file.
You can find the profiles.ini file in a hidden location:
- Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the "~/Library" folder in the Home directory is a hidden folder.
I download the DMG file from the site. Then when I open it to drag to apps I don't see the Firefox logo, I see an icon of paper, pencil, ruler and brush. I never see the correct logo. I have tried this numerous times. This happens every time. I'm about to give up on it.

The usual steps we recommend is to do a clean reinstall and drag the Firefox application from the Doc to the Trash and reinstall the current Firefox release.
