when TB is started automatically after a reboot or cold start i cannot drag emails from the IMAP inbox (or local folders) to any other folder. If i shut down TB and restart it all is good. I have disabled TB automatically being loaded after a restart and manually start it and have no trouble with moving emails either by dragging or using the move command. This has been happening for thelast 6 months or more (my pc rarely gets restarted except for system upgrades). Currently running TB 68.4.1 (64-bit) on fedora 31 (fault is on f29 and 30 as well) with XFCE desktop.

my guess is when it is automatically started with the operating system the permissions for the file system have not been setup properly at the point Thunderbird starts so the inbox file is read-only due to lack of privileges.

Hi Matt, Applies to local folders as well as the inbox. cannot drag emails to/from any folders but right-clicking and using the move email command works. tried dragging after doing right-click moves but still nogo.

TB is one of the last programs to start after a cold start/reboot as having many workspaces i have several ff pages, open office spreadsheets, games, terminal and thunar that all open before tb starts to load in its workspace.
