Currently using dual boot Windows and Ubuntu, with Thunderbird under Ubuntu. Thinking of dropping Ubuntu and going to Windows only. When I install Thunderbird under Windows will it be able to use the files created under Ubuntu?

Copy the .thunderbird folder from Ubuntu, delete the contents of the Thunderbird folder in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming on the Windows PC, replace the contents with the contents of the .thunderbird folder, and delete pkcs11.txt (to avoid password issues). TB closed during this operation.

OK, thanks. My concern was whether a file written under Ubuntu could be read under Windows and I guess that's not an issue.

There may be a few differences when a profile is transferred, e.g. the helper apps defined in Options/Attachments, default download folder etc., but the important items such as mail folders, address books, most extensions, are readable on any OS.
