more options

When I open my mozila firefox, I see "http://www.windowsxlive.net/" this website as my homepage. Then I change it from settings manually. But after relaunch this software, it's same. My software is uptodate, Version:67.0. And I try Kaspersky, Bitdefender, melware byte to fix this issue but it can't be. I try from "about:config" but being same result. Please help or I unstall it from my PC for security issue. Noteworthy, I can't use any Ad blocker.

Hi Meraz, thank you for sharing your Troubleshooting Information (next to your question, Question Details > More System Details).

There is a note in there that you have a user.js file, which is a file Firefox reads every startup and uses to override your regular settings. That file is a possible source of the conflicting home page address, so I suggest checking that next.

Do you recall ever creating a user.js file for any purpose? If not, you could delete it. Or if you're not sure, you could hide it from Firefox by renaming it to userOLD.js. This article has a section on how to get to the user.js file: How to fix preferences that won't save.

Was that it, or do we need to keep hunting?
