Since I changed the passwords on my three Gmail accounts (accepted in webmail and on my iphone) Thunderbird keeps coming back with a 'password not accepted' msg
Just this, really. I try to login via thunderbird and it keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I can use other mail clients to login, but I prefer the layout of thunderbird, plus I have all my old folders and emails stored there! Not sure what else I can do? I keep seeing responses to other, similar problems mentioning the servers, but surely that would mean I couldn't login with any client? (Sorry if I'm being obtuse!) If there is a very techy solution, please can you spell it out so an idiot (me!) can understand. Thank you if you'e got this far!

What is your account type - POP or IMAP?

Hi Thunderbird needs to know the new password for the accounts - when you change it on Gmail, you need to change Thunderbird to use the same new password that you use in webmail. If you had just one Gmail password - just enter the new password at the Thunderbird prompt. As you have several, try this - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-tb I hope that helps, Agnes

Thank you but I’ve tried using the new password (obviously!)
It’s ‘pop’, in response to the other reply.
With POP you'll need to 'allow less secure apps' in your Google settings. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6009563
