Can I add email data etc that I saved years ago into an already existing/installed newer version of Thunderbird?
Hi, Id like to newly install TB - but have all my old emails stored in folders which I cant get hold of right now (I copied them directly from the application folders/user data, not using any program for it) So if I install TB now - will it be possible for me to LATER add the old files/folder structure etc - and without overriding anything?? Thx very much in advance!!

Simple answer: yes, most likely as long as you have the copied folders. They are under Mail/account server name/folder name (without extension) "Local Folders" are just another account server name. And also found under ImapMail/account server name.....
If you install add-on ImportExportTools you can import those files right away. If you also install MoreFunctionsForAddressBook from the same author you can import your old address book

Thankyou, Gnospen! So, I've installed TB now - and hope I will be able to add the old data later. Only, I don't find the folders on my computer WHERE I must later put my mails ? But I hope I ill manage anyway. (didnt find this tree... "They are under Mail/account server name/folder name (without extension)")

Enter in Explorer %appdata%\thunderbird\profiles you should probably have a directory called "something".default This is your profile, open it Here are your MAIL and IMAPMAIL -directories
When using the add-on you don't need to know where to put it. All you need to know is where your backup copy is.
