Our newly re-designed website has a pop-up that will not work even with pop ups allowed through the settings and no Ad-Block plug-in added on. Can you help?

The website AutoRoundUp.com recently went through some redesigning and since, the pop-up that usually appears has not been working in Mozilla. The small dialogue box is supposed to pop up and stay on the user's screen until they exit out of it. The computers that we are currently use in the office have no Add-Block extensions and each has had the settings adjusted so that pop ups are allowed but we still are not able to see or access the pop up dialogue box. On one computer, box will occasionally pop up for 1-2 seconds, but then disappears.

What page is supposed to have the pop-up? I don't see it on the home page in Firefox or Chrome. What are the steps that usually trigger it?

The pop up is written into the software somehow to pop up on any page accessed first, which is usually the homepage, and remain on the screen until closed. It is a simple dialogue box that has no options other than closing it. It lets users know that some ad blocking software may interfere with the site’s programming and cause problems when using the site, suggesting that they allow pop-ups for the Auto Round-Up website. Through malfunctioning and not popping up, we're running into additional problems from customer's unable to use the site as wanted

It sounds like the new site is not fully debugged... What browsers in your office are actually showing the popup? Make sure the clear the cache (in IE, Temporary Internet Files) to work with ONLY the latest website code.

As for other site issues, usually pop-ups launched in response to a user-generated event are allowed even if the pop-up blocker is on, so it is rare that a user would need to turn it off. Firefox has a list of events allowed to bypass the popup blocker which you or your developer can view here:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste pop and pause while the list is filtered

(3) The dom.popup_allowed_events preference lists the following by default (in Firefox 44, versions may vary): change click dblclick mouseup notificationclick reset submit touchend

If you are getting a different prompt related to repeated use of JavaScript alert/prompt/confirm dialogs, that's another setting and an annoying way to interact with users.
