One of my gmail accounts wont connect says wrong password but ok

I set this account up a few months ago. I works on Apple mail and via a web browser but will not work with either Microsoft outlook or Thunderbird. The email is cxxxxxx.xx.xx@gmail.com, when I set it up it is recognized but will not accept the password. The password is definitely correct

(I'm assuming this hasn't changed in the past 6 months...)

Google only wants you to connect to Gmail with applications that use the newer OAuth 2.0 protocol. Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook, and some other mail clients do not support that. So you need to change a setting in Gmail to "Allow less secure apps".
