Firefox hangs. Doesn't give a clean crash. Doesn't give report. Cannot restart. Removed completely (even Mozilla Maintenance) and re-installed: same problem.
Firefox has been my browser of choice for about 6 years. On 3/16 /15 it stopped working. I tried all of the suggestions. I then completely uninstalled Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance. I restarted and checked my disks and memory. All other browsers: IE, Safari, Chrome & Opera work fine. I installed from Firefox Setup 36.0.3.exe this morning. Same problem. Works for about 5 minutes and then hangs.

What can I do?

No answers to this problem in answers.microsoft.com. Have pretty much converted all activity to Chrome, which is a shame because Firefox, when it worked, was so much better, more complete, easier, etc.
No way forward that I can see. .
Ask your own question. That is the place to ask.

This happens regulary when using the "back button" on sites. Firefox 38.0.5 cannot revert to the previous site without a complete hang....."no connection to the server" appears. Tried every darned thing...checked how FF connects to the IE; restet the blighter so many times, fished with add ons, safe mode; tried every permutation without success.
Oh my...all this is getting worse....HD working overdrive for what ? Cache fills up....delete it ? Noticed FF health time 20 secs; (not good) and now hangs on itself when opening the advanced # network box. Cold reset required, loosing opened programs. The irony is one is spending more time on FF diagnostics than actual usage. Time to change.
