I asked a question about "Colorful Tabs". The developer updated them on May 1, 2014. They work when I'm in customize only.
Although this is marked as "solved", it isn't. I have updated the

What do you mean "it isn't" ?
Hi Kasey,
Sorry about the late response. Can you elaborate a little more on what you mean and possibly attach a screenshot of what you're talking about as well, because I'm a little confused at this time.
Can you also send me your troubleshooting information from the Firefox installation that's having issues? This is a good part in troubleshooting.
- Navigate to

via Address Bar - Click the button that says

- Now, go back to your forum post and click inside the reply box. Press Ctrl+V to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.
Colorful Tabs only works when I am customizing, not in regular browsing when tabs are open. See the two screen shots.
I am using Firefox 29.0.1. This (and many other problems) started immediately upon installation. I spent all day yesterday trying to fix. (No mother's day present for my mom!)

Switch back to Default Theme ?
I have "Firefox fix-it fatigue". Every time I take a suggestion such as this, it causes more problems. And I hate the default theme because it makes Firefox ugly and hard to use.
Hello,
A theme is an add-on that changes the visual appearance of Firefox. When several themes are installed, you can switch to another theme as follows:
- Go to Tools and click Add-ons (or click the Firefox button at the top left and click Add-ons).
- Switch to the Appearance tab. You should find your previously used personas in the list.
- Find the one you want to use and click the Enable button.
To uninstall the other ones you can click the Remove button on them and they'll be uninstalled instantly.
For more information about Firefox themes, see the article Use themes to change the look of Firefox.
Did this answer your question? Let us know.
Is there any way to get the "Default theme" to change color from that awful blue to more like "Minimalist One" (which no longer works with the recent Firefox update to 29.1)?
I need a white background in order to be able to read because of eye difficulties.

Do you have Classic Theme Restorer as I see a flexible space item in the Customize palette?
In that case the CTR extension might be overriding this, so check the CTR settings via its Options/Preferences button in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" or possibly disable the extension temporarily.
I disabled the CTR and now it is gone from my extensions. The tabs are back on top which I hate. I have to try to get back the CTR to make Firefox at all usable. Bad enough with the Default theme, making it hard to read.
You can move the tabs to the lower position just above the browsing area without using an extension with code in userChrome.css as basically you only need to give the Tab bar a higher -moz-box-ordinal-group value (most toolbars have a default -moz-box-ordinal-group:1 to show them in DOM order).
See:
- [/questions/997353] How can I put the Tabs back below the navigation bar?
Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ #TabsToolbar{-moz-box-ordinal-group:10000!important}
The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
Sorry, much of what you suggest is over my head. I can't find Firefox profile folder.
Profile Folder : just Alt+H+T > Show Folder
Sorry, but Alt+H+T doesn't show the location of the Folder. When I do a search for "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0", it isn't on my computer (Windows 7 64-bit)
You can open the about:support page via the location bar to open the Help > Troubleshooting Information page and find the button to go to the profile folder.
You should see a Help (?) button in the bottom right corner of the 3-bar Firefox menu button drop-down list.
