This is driving me insane. On mobile data (3,4,5g) Firefox will not open any websites, it just sits with a white page until eventually I get "connection reset". Every other browser on the device works fine though, and Firefox can access sites when on WiFi.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the main app *and* installed focus, beta and nightly versions, all have the same problems. Permissions on mobile data are allowed.

I cannot even get a sensible log or network trace out of the browser as there are no Dev tools.

It sometimes feels like Mozilla are trying their absolute hardest to lose users, I even had had the old "browser uses 12gb of memory for two tabs" problem on desktop the other week.

Firefox on my android phone times out on any webpage whenever I am not connected to a Wi-Fi. All webpages and IP addresses timeout with no response. Same issue occurs on Firefox Beta app and Firefox Nightly. All other applications work as expected with full internet access on mobile data. The same pages/addresses respond as expected on Chrome and the built-in browser.

Simply put, all Firefox apps have no internet connectivity on mobile data.

Solutions I've attempted with no success or change: Re-install Firefox. Logging out of Firefox Sync. Clear Firefox data and cache. Disabling tracking protection. Disabling HTTPS-only mode. No proxy settings are enabled. Confirmed Firefox application has mobile data network privileges. Disabling, re-enabling mobile data network privs. Installing Firefox Beta and Firefox Nightly; same issue.

Another possibly related issue: Firefox does not follow routes from a Cisco AnyConnect VPN on my phone. Opening pages/IP addresses routed through the VPN are rejected or timeout as if the VPN is not active at all. The same pages/addresses respond as expected on Chrome and the built-in browser. This occurs over Wi-Fi as well, of course nothing works on mobile data as described above.

Device: Oneplus 8T (KB2003) OS: OxygenOS 13.1 (Android 13) Firefox version: 117.0.1

Hi. I downloaded the latest issue of Firefox (104.0.1) to my mobile phone and since then I have been unable to connect to the internet via 4/5G - but it is OK using wifi. This is highly annoying when I need to connect whilst out and about. Weirdly, the calculator on the phone and Samsung Notes have also disappeared and I am unable to download from the Play Store! All the usual things like rebooting, cleaning caches etc do not work. Is it possible to roll back to an earlier version? Any ideas would be useful, given the lack of phone contact available, thanks

As of yesterday (1st Nov 2023), Firefox started reporting "Proxy Server Refused Connection" when trying to browse websites over Wifi.

I have a proxy server configured in my phone wifi settings, and this has worked before, and still works in other apps (Chrome, etc)

Checking with tcpdump on the proxy server itself, I see my phone trying to connect to port 80, rather than the configured port (8000)

Firefox version: 119.0.1 Phone: Samsung Galaxy S22 Android version: 13

How to bypass this, please? I beg you!

It's always the same link. It ruins my business immensly. I have searched the whole internet on how to disable it but I found no solution.

This is via Bluestacks 5 Android Emulator. It doesn't have any Anti Virus enabled. All virus protections are disabled. I have disabled Enhance Protection and disabled HTTPs scanning inside Firefox settings but that didn't fix it.

Please help me!

I recently logged into the WIFI of my TAFE, which uses a proxy, only to find that Firefox would not work. 1 hour of crazed searching later I have found that you pretty much *cannot use a proxy with Firefox on Android*.

Sure technically you can download the FoxyProxy add-on or go to about:config and change the settings there (but not on the stable build which y'know most people use) but the fact that the stock, stable install has *zero* support for proxies, which are extremely common on school/work networks, is absolutely unacceptable. This is *basic* functionality that was reported as missing as far back as 10 years ago and *nothing* has been done to fix this.

The worst part is Mozilla are clearly aware of this. An issue was opened on github and was only closed to be moved over to bugzilla where it remains open. And for some reason on bugzilla the severity is marked as N/A even though this literally means you cannot use Firefox Android on any network with a proxy

I apologize for the harsh and direct tone but I am truly astonished that no one seems to think that this is as severe as it actually is. I use Firefox because I love open source software and I hate the idea of google having a monopoly over browsers. Things like this where basic features are missing (resulting in the browser being completely unusable on certain networks) make me reconsider if this browser is even worth using. And please don't say that FoxyProxy solves all of this because the fact that basic functionality is locked behind a third party extension is unacceptable.

Hello,

On Firefox for Android, I get "Proxy is refusing connection" error while attempting to connect to any site on the Internet. But I didn't configure any proxy connection for Firefox! Moreover, this error happens when I use my home Wi-Fi network, but browser works properly when using cellular data or any other Wi-Fi network. Also, browser works for some time if I start VPN (Psiphon in my case), stop Firefox through Android settings, clear cache and start the browser again.

Best regards, Peter

I've also re-installed Firefox Android, no change.

Thanks, Rod

Waaaay to frequently, i can not access lowes.com with Firefox. At 1st I thought it was a VPN issue, but turned it off and still can't access, getting:

You don't have permission to access "http://www.lowes.com/" on this server.

Happens on desktop and android versions, vpn off or on, using http or https, but at the same time CAN access on Brave, Chrome, and whatever stupid name Mickeysoft calls their browser this month... So I feel i have isolated it as solely a Firefox issue.
