why can't I use the lingq importer extention? I get a message for all my extentions that says: firefox extension can't read and change data on this site. It's preventing me from using the LingQ importer extention.

I have logged out of one Gmail account and want Firefox to use another, but Firefox ignores the one I want to use. How do I get Firefox to recognize a certain Gmail account so I can receive mail?

To open a link of a website in the background tab is CTRL+click, why is it that to open a bookmark of the bookmark toolbar in the background tab is CTRL+shift+click. It is confusing! A bookmark is a link! For comparison, both of them are CTRL + click in chromium. BTW, there is no explanation in advanced configuration preferences.

Hi Every single one of my passwords is compromised according to you. Therefore I think the data breach is with Firefox . I have set up several unique passwords recently - how are they breached so soon? And why every single one. It is very suspicious. Regards Caroline

I am afraid to update to Firefox 124 for fear of losing the existing order of 100s of open tabs if the default setting of ordering tabs by "Recently Opened" kicks in before I have a chance to change the setting to "Tab Order". Can anyone help me? I'd like to upgrade to 124 if I can do so safely!

What is a security key? Where do I find it? Why does Firefox think I have one?

And why is there no helpful information to explain this confusing UX?

I Cannot restore 3/1 or 2/29 Bookmarks!!! What's going on with Firefox??? Now, all there is in my Bookmarks are five listings saying, " BS2trash folder for undo of bookmark deletes- DO NOT REMOVE ..."

I wouldn't have to do this except that somehow, a Bookmark folder disappeared. All too often is has occurred. I have many, many very important Bookmarks. How can I get them back---and soon?

I saw a message that my Add-ons were disabled, and when I checked the Add-ons Manager , each of my many Add-ons had a message similar to: "1Password – Password Manager could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled. "

Some searches in the forums suggest that that this can be caused my a certificate at Mozilla expiring, I seem to be the only one with this issue at the moment. All of my Add-ons came through the Mozilla store .

I am using version 123.0.1 (64-bit) on OpenSUSE Leap 15.5, and as far as I can see all of my updates are current (and from the official sources.)

What should I do next? I expect I need to wait for a certificate update or something at Mozilla, but if/when that happens how do I verify it did and re-enable my add-ons?

When doing a search directly from searchlight options, firefox uses google search instead of the duck duck go default.

All other searches from within firefox uses the default correctly.

Hi, I watch specific streaming live show on YouTube every week. Unfortunately, I always have to play it in non-Firefox browser, because the video freezes every couple minutes, while audio track is still playing in the background. Based on the comments from the stream chat, other people have this issue too. Why? How to fix it? It is annoying. Internet connection is ok. Other browsers no issue. OS Linux Mint 20 Ulyana 64-bit Kernel Linux 5.4.0-172-generic x86_64 MATE 1.24.0 Mozilla Firefox 123.0 (64-bit)

It's so bad that I might have to stop using it entirely.

I've tried creating new profiles, disabling all add-ons, and disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection; none helped.

As you can see in the video (about the 00:16 mark) it randomly stops properly loading pages from the website, even in new tabs. The only temporary remedy is to either close and re-open FF, or press Ctrl+F5 (which I did at the end of the video).

I must add that it can happen even when loading the website for the first time in the session.

Hi. I keep several Firefox tabs open and active on my laptop. Inevitably, Firefox slows down after a week or several weeks and would benefit from a Quit / Restart. But then (I think) I would lose my tabs, which would mean a trip to the library to login and get them back. If I do nothing, a superslow Firefox will usually mean my laptop eventually restarts on its own. Then when I open Firefox I see a "Restore Session" option, which brings everything back (I think I see Restore Session because the computer did its own shutdown). So, this does work, but I have a slow computer until the laptop does its own restart. I am wondering if I can initiate my own Firefox Quit / Restart which will give me the "Restore Session" option. Thanks!

My update preference for Firefox is to download but I will install it. But it consistenly (over the last numerous updates) changes it to Automatic. I do not want Automatic updates. I want to control when it updates. I do not see this issue addressed anywhere. I have checked numerous times. Please help! My sincere thank you for your time and attention to my request for help. Back in November 2023 I had the misfortune of a software engineer not doing his job correctly and he reinstalled the OS on my laptop instead of repairing some software that wasn't functioning correctly. Mercifully, I have had Microsoft support working on recovering my data, which has proved a tremendous task. 4 months and counting.

We have now finally managed to recover my passwords for my browsers, but they are encrypted. Microsoft Support have therefore asked if Mozilla do a decryption tool as they cannot open the file without it being decrypted first. If I was using Microsoft Edge, they would have been able to assist as that is a Microsoft product, but as Firefox is a third party application, they've asked for assistance. By the way, these are NOT scammers or hackers 'helping' me, but Microsoft support and I get everything emailed about our support etc.

Whenever I try to play videos on Firefox, the elements don't load right and no video will begin. On Youtube, this is usually either a blank page with no video element, or I get an error stating that the video can't be played. On Twitch, I get the streamer's default 'not streaming' message, even if they are live, and VODs don't work. I have several extensions to protect privacy and block ads, but even if they are all turned off I still have this problem. I've also tried turning my VPN off and on, and setting it to various different locations. Nothing works. I can watch videos on another browser without issue.
