There's surely no option for it now, but I would like to suggest adding a setting for each user that can affect all or individual add-on extensions : force silent updates. You see, when add-ons get updated, they open a new tab. Now this can be useful or simply interesting, but sometimes it's just obtrusive for people, especially when watching a video. This happened to me a couple of times, I'd be watching a YouTube video on full screen and suddenly the program would exit full screen and switch to a new tab where the add-on page is open, and the video is still playing. I have a new, updated firefox on a faster computer. However, I've notice that many files, especially videos, while they download at normal speed, can take over 10 minutes to actually START downloading. It also seems to vary based on whether I'm downloading from a download link, a page like mediafire, using "save video as", etc. It will just stay on the screen, with the little dot on its' tab going back and forth.

They took away the controls and then started making them fat. Right now I have 2/3 screen. Anybody have a solution? I know there is no explanation why they all do this. They never answer. Thanks.
