I purchased a new computer, was finally able to download Firefox. When I go to use it, frigging Microsoft BING come up. How do I fix it? Thank you for your help. Susan

p.s. I am at work, the new computer is at home., The version of Firefox was downloaded yesterday and the operating system is Windows 11

My system broke during an update. Now I want to import my old Firefox userdata, but everytime I try to use the old data firefox just forces the creation of a new profile?

Is it completely impossible to recover data not created with the same firefox version?

I use a web application that lists items in a table, which provides a link to download the table as a CSV file. It used to work fine in previous versions of Firefox. However, in the current version, while the file save dialog defaults to a filename that ends in .csv and CSV is selected in the "Save as type:" drop-down, the data in the file that Firefox actually saves is in XML rather than CSV format. I don't know in which version of Firefox this behavior changed, as it's been a couple years since I tried to use this feature. Or I suppose it actually could be a new bug. I do know that when I use the same feature in Microsoft Edge, it saves the CSV file in the correct format, so this behavior seems to be peculiar to Firefox, rather than anything wrong with the web application.

A bit desperate here. Windows crashed with no chance of repairing the installation. Hard drive And all files on it are accessible. Firefox had thousands of bookmarks for a very important project.

There seems to be no Firefox profile on the drive. Searched in hidden folders as well. Certainly not where it’s supposed to be: …\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Search for all files on the drive, but there seems to be no SQLITE or JSON files related to Firefox.

Not even a folder anywhere in the drive called Mozilla or Firefox or Profiles or Profile (at least not in relation to Firefox).

There’s no file called places.sqlite or bookmarkbackups anywhere on the drive.

The drive itself seems to be in a good condition and all other files are there and accessible. The file system doesn’t seem to be corrupt And man thousands of bookmarks were there before windows crashed.

Also checked places in \Roaming\ Just in case, as sometimes it could be found there for some installations.

Nothing found anywhere so far. Seems like running out of options.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Netflix all of a sudden wont work on firefox after update. still works on edge and my computer in other room which has an update firefox popup that i have not done yet. i reset drm already. it wont even sign in through firefox. i was on the phone with netflix for an hour they said use chrome which i hate or edge which is equally horrible but both work just not firefox. f7111-1957-205002 this code popped once. never had this kind of problem before. i already cleared cash and redownloaded firefox and all that jazz.

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY - Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (Firefox-Mozilla kinda encourages using their tools to block cookies, which I much prefer), and I CANT FIND WHERE TO ALLOW (not yelling its just that I said this before and it wasn't noticed) cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences all I could find was under privacy & security cross-site cookies but that did nothing) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to try (I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! I did get the following reply, saying to allow cookies (BUT I DON"T KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO DO IT) and something about a new browser profile and to stay out of my sync account, and I APOLOGIZE, but I have no clue what all that means. What is a broweser profile, what is a sync account and how do I stay out of it? I guess well I know i'm not too smart about this kinda stuff, so I apologize but I think I need detailed step by step what to do to fix this. I know thats a lot of typing, sorry.

I was using FF on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. Had version FF 120.x and playing video in Netflix worked fine. Then I updated to FF 124.x and playing video stopped with error F7355-1203.

I've checked the DRM setting and it is enabled, I checked addons and I have OpenH264 and Widevine installed, both set to always active.

I've checked installed codecs and I do have libavcodec58 installed. No update for that available via apt. I also have ffmpeg installed, no problem with that either. I can play Netflix videos in Chrome, but not in Firefox now. Something happened to Firefox when I updated from 120.x to 124.x. Today I updated to 125.x, same problem, Netflix video won't play.

I've unchecked the DRM setting and re-checked it, and that does reinstalled Widevine but does not fix the problem.

Any ideas what could be the cause?

I am writing to report an issue I have encountered while using the Firefox browser. Specifically, I am unable to take screenshots on the website https://hescoebill.pk/hesco-mis/. This issue persists despite numerous attempts, and it seems to be unique to this particular website. Is there any other way to take screenshot of site? I really want to take a screenshot for personal reason. Is it not allowed from the site owner side or what?

That happens also in safe mode, but not with Chrome.

All downloads I make inside of Firefox are automatically failing, with "Failed" message. This only happens in Firefox, Microsoft Edge downloads are perfectly fine. I've tried starting in troubleshoot mode, disabling anti-virus, clearing cache and downloads, rebooting PC.

Some recent changes in PC include: changing TEMP and TMP system variables to another drive (I've changed them back to C drive, had no effect) and making C drive a dynamic disk. Yesterday downloads were working fine. Thanks in advance.

I just got a new computer and had my info transferred. It is probably the latest version of Firefox on the new computer now. On the previous version it seems like Favorites was spelled out toward the top of the page on the left hand side. I see now it is just a star icon. Is there any way to get it the way it used to be? I'm sure I will get used to it the new way, but I still liked it the other way. Thanks

I made a small CSS customization to my tabs in FF 115 ESR on Windows 7, so they would be flat on the bottom and rounded on the top, looking a bit more like tabs instead of buttons.

Looked ok in FF 115 ESR.

However, in FF 125, half the tabs are now cut off, including their text (see attached images).

Also the tabs background is darker in FF 115 ESR, providing more contrast between the tabs and the tab bar. In FF 125, it's almost all white and I can hardly distinguish between the tabs and the tab bar.

Why is there such a big difference in appearance between FF 115 ESR on Windows 7, and FF 125 on Windows 10?

I have language set to English (GB) but am being constantly annoyed with words like "colour" being underlined as badly spelt. Why aren't you using an English (GB) dictionary?

I have:

125.0 (64-bit) Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0

Video on Facebook plays without sound. The video plays, I see the image normally, but no sound. Video on Youtube works perfectly.

Fresh install without addons or plugins. Switching to "Troubleshoot mode" does not change anything. Youtube with sound, Facebook without sound.

Any ideas where to look?

Many, many websites now have this behavior: at the top of an article or blog post is an embedded video. (Or sometimes, partway through.) Scrolling past the video causes it to jump to a sticky position in the lower right corner of the window. (See attached screenshot.) Also, even if various disable-autoplay boxes are ticked in my settings, the shifted video will always start playing.

Granted, most sites provide a little "X" to close the video. At worst, there is the pause option. But still, it's an annoyance to have to do this on soooo many sites, every time I visit to read something.

Key word there: read.

My point is: if I wanted to watch the video, I would have, when it was right there in front of me. Since I have scrolled past it, this ought to be an indication that I do not want to watch the video.

So, the request is some sort of option in Settings that would prevent this behavior. Enabling it would do nothing else to the page except prevent the behavior as described.

I just got a new to me computer and it has Firefox 125.0.3 (64bit) but I was more comfortable with what I had Version 124.0.2 (64 bit). What would be the downside of changing to what I had? I just use it for home use and browsing. How would I go about making that change. I'm not to knowledgeable about computer language and stuff. Thanks, Larry

Not sure if this is a new 'feature' post-update but it's damn annoying. I was busily transferring some photos that I'd taken on my phone over to Firefox on my Mac. Wasn't until I went to find them on the Mac where they would normally be and couldn't find them. Bit of digging, opening up the Download 'history' on Firefox and saw "File not downloaded: possible security risk".

I can see that I can disable this 'feature' but it seems to be a global "allow". Is there any way I can tell Firefox to allow any downloads from my devices on my network yet warn for potentially insecure downloads from the web?
