Like any privacy-conscious person, I do not want websites gaining access to my clipboard. I thought I had taken the necessary precautions, by setting the following preferences:

dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled => FALSE

clipboard.plainTextOnly => TRUE

Today, however, while writing in an online text box, I hit Ctrl+V and was horrified to see a very personal image inserted into the text box! (The image just happened to be in the clipboard.)

What is going on here? How could this possibly happen? Can sites still access my clipboard?

Firefox Monitor notified me of a data breach of an account that was deleted automatically due to inactivity by LiveJournal.com eight years ago. How come my e-mail still got in the data breach that supposedly happened three years ago in 2017 and has just been discovered? It says the breach included e-mails and passwords. I don't even remember what password I used back then and the account is deleted, so I can't log in anymore. Is there anything I should be concerned about? How is this even possible in the first place?

After a full review of all Mozilla's addon troubleshooting pages, the addons I use everyday either don't appear upon my use of a mouse right click or don't work when clicking on them in the browser's header bar, and I haven't downloaded the new Firefox version for GREAT fear of AGAIN loosing ALL of my addons for the second time. And not being able to use my lost addons have crippled my production, because their replacement have not been nearly as good.

To remove an addon was easy, but reinstalling it won't fully engage even when the page popped up and gave me the option to install it. It's just spinning.

I imagine we're not talking about a sudden incompatability without an upgrade. Your help is welcome.

Hello,

Firefox 76.0.1 is causing me problems...

For example if I call a PHP program to log out, I use the JavaScript command:

function Logout() {

 self.location = "Root.php?LogOff=Y"

}

No problem there, but when I want to log back in I use:

<form name='detail' method='Post' onsubmit='Root.php'> <input type='text' name='UserId' class='Full' style='border: 0;'> <input type='Password' name='Password' class='Full'>

(The class Full, just sets the width to 100% as this is in a table)

The the JavaScript is simply:

function LogIn() {

 document.detail.submit();

}

Seems simple enough, but the Root.PHP receives:

 LogOff -> Y
 UserId -> <name>
 Password -> <password>

Not what I was expecting!

The only other thing of note is that I have started using local.storage to save information, and this too passes information from previous calls.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Richard Gamester

Whenever I get Javascript errors from Chrome invading my space while Chrome is off and I am in Firefox reading my earthlink email. These script errors will eventually flash a yellow warning at the top of the screen but they do not last long enough for me to click stop so the script error stops. I strongly recommend that you establish a permanent button somewhere that I can push at any time to check for script errors and to stop them if they are running. I also would like a stronger browser so you stop Chrome from running javascript when it is off. I lose hours every week because of this nonsense. Chrome sucks. I would get rid of it if I could but I do need it a couple times a week. What can I do to stop the script errors?

So i have noticed recently that when i type a search term into the address bar and press enter it sometimes says "Do you want to go to the link http://Searchterm/ instead. Well today i tried to search "Unity" and now my address bar instead of searching allways wants to go to "http://Unity/" instead of searching google for "Unity". I know clearing cache would probably help but i'd like to know if theres a way to turn off that whole "feature?". Thanks

I just tried some other things and none of them do it and i just cleared my cache but it's still there

I have noticed in the last week or so, for whatever reason Facebook is not letting me share others posts, i.e. Memes, Photos, My own memories, and Chrome has no problems...

When I do on Firefox, a Facebook Popup in the left bottom comes up and tells me its been blocked and has 2 links, which lead to my thoughts on this, and the other to explain vaguely why it was blocked and The Rules or something.

I do remember, didn't we just get a recent update to Firefox, so maybe since this update.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know in the past, some deep settings have been altered in updates and I have had to go fix them.

Thanks, Sincerely,

Kenny

Be Blessed...

Ran into this in developing code for a report that gets regularly printed out.

In Firefox 50.0.2 the following bit of CSS worked

@media print {

  .page-counter::after {
     counter-increment: page;
     content: "Page " counter(page);
  }

}

In my table it will display "Page 1", "Page 2", etc.

But in Firefox 70.0.1 and 72.0.1 what happens is that on the first page it says "Page 3" (or whatever the total count is) and the following pages will just say "Page".

Is this a known issue with some workaround handling?

When expecting a package from UPS I set up a tab with the tracking number and refresh it to get the current status of the package. This worked for years but the last few years whenever said tab is accessed it has either "/TRACKDETAILS" or "/" added to the tracking number in its search textbox, and of course UPS generates an error for it. If I remove the offending characters and search then everything is fine, but if I leave the tab and come back the offending characters are back. It is always one of the two I mentioned, and it will always have one of them. I have no idea if this is a Firefox problem or not but UPS told me to go-away-the-problem-isn't-on-our-end. I'm at my wit's end to solve this, have you any insight to give? Thank you.

P.S. I should add that I have tried disabling all my various add-ons to no avail, it makes no difference.

A recent up date to Zonealarm flagged a part (might have even been the executeable) of Firefox as having some malware, and automatically quarantined it, with the consequence that was unable to use it. It wouldn't even open. Consequently, I had to clean the remainder out and reinstall FF and set it up again to my liking. Since then, Email Link is not working properly. In fact it runs wild and is difficult to stop. In the Options>>Application I have mailto set to Use Microsoft Outlook just as it was before the reinstall which worked correctly. Now what happens is it gets itself into a never-ending reiteration or opening a new tab in FF, which then does something to open a new iteration of Outlook with the legend Navigation to the webpage was cancelled as shown in the attached screenshot. This somehow manages to open another new tab in FF and so on and so forth, until I manage to stop it. Below is the address I was testing with in a separate FF instance, and was a link to Google which is normally my default New Tab page (don't judge!) mailto:?body=https%3a%2f%2fwww.google.co.nz%2f&subject=google I don't recognise much of the items on the menu bar, and if I click on the drop down menu where the above address appears, all it comes up with is Add or Remove buttons. I am rather at a loss of where to go with this. The version of Office that I am using is Office 2003 as it is the last without the damned ribbon, which I hate. I hope someone can come up with a solution for this, so thanks in advance.

Recently, Firefox on my main PC has been having trouble opening pages. The same thing happens on my office PC, but less frequently.

Today it's come to a point where over 50% of the time I try to open a "New Tab" or open a link in a new tab, that new tab will get stuck in a state where it's either showing the URL and making no attempt to load the page, just showing a blank white page (which is wrong, I set it Firefox Home, but it happens with FF:Home or Blank).

I've tried refreshing Firefox, it hasn't made a difference. IF anything the problem is just getting worse and the browser is becoming more and more unusable.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? I'm wondering if it's specific to my add-on setup. It shouldn't be, I spent ages disabling add-ons one-by-one to see if it made a difference, then I found the problem even occurs in safe mode / all add-ons disabled.

Is it a recent problem with Firefox? I recall this happenning with an update maybe a year or two ago then it resolved itself, but lately the browser is becoming un-usable for me. Before, when I had tabs jammed like this, I could copy the URL and paste it into a new tab to get back to browsing, but now all the new tabs in my current session are broken like this.
