Whenever I try to launch Firefox, a blank window opens and immediately closes instead of the actual browser. This happens no matter how many times I try, even if I restart my computer. In case it's relevant, I'm using Windows 10.

When trying to download something, I have to use "Troubleshoot Mode" Downloads fail to complete when in "Regular" mode. Does anyone have any clue what might be causing the problem?

I am attending college classes on line, I frequently have 4 tabs pinned, and 3-4 further tabs open. Without any discernible pattern I can fathom, Firefox will close everything. I have no add-ons to remove, update or restart. I have no plug ins to remove, update or restart. My drivers and Windows OS are all up to date.

I ask my Firefox to delete my history and clear the cash when it is closed, so it takes me roughly 5-20 minutes to log back into everything I'm doing for class or my personal life when this happens.

Upon researching this matter today, all the fixes I can find involve removing add-ons and plug ins. Or updating them. Or turning them off. I have none to try this fix on. The advice on the main page says to check that all system are up to date. I have checked, they are.

A few days ago Ubuntu (22.04 LTS) showed me a message saying I can upgrade my OS (or something along those lines). I click on agree (any button that would let me proceed) and the upgrade took place (without restarting). Along with the upgrade Firefox was also updated to its latest version at the time (119.0). Since then, videos on Twitter play but without sound. On some other websites also none of the videos play. On YouTube, Firefox shows me a message saying "To play video, you may need to install the required video codecs" but the videos play fine; I haven't tried other websites but I assume all would have some issues. Google Chrome however doesn't have this issue and all videos play without any issues.

Note that I have not restarted my computer since the upgrade. I doubt this could be an issue but please let me know if you think this could be the issue.

I did the followings and restarted Firefox but none have worked so far for Twitter and some other random websites that I come across, but they resolved the issue for YouTube and now YouTube videos play, although I still get that codec message at the top of the tab:

sudo apt-get install ffmpeg sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras sudo apt install libavcodec-extra

Someone told me this is because the default Firefox on Ubuntu 22 comes as a snap package and I should install the APT package manually instead so that it works. I prefer not to do this because I have lots of tabs open and have manually changed lots of the settings (including in about:config) that I want to preserve. I would also like to preserve the history of visited websites and keep the current cookies (don't really want to keep entering username/password on the same websites again). So the best way for me is to fix the issue for the default Firefox on Ubuntu 22.

Could you help me figure out what I should do to fix this issue?

Since Mozilla released the 119.0 build of Firefox, I have noticed that scrolling Youtube Shorts doesn't work. I can watch the first short and scroll to the second but trying to scroll past that causes the video to jump back up to the first video. The same thing happens when I try to scroll through emails using my ISP web based email client. I can see the first five emails on the list but if I try to scroll further it jumps back up to the first five. I have tried refreshing Firefox and I have tried using the trouble shooting option under help and the scroll issues still happened in both. I have this issue on my laptop as well as this desktop and I even installed a different browser and in that browser scrolling works fine in both Youtube and the web based email client. I was unsure where to report this to Mozilla so I thought I would try here to see if anyone can help.

About 3 months ago when logging in to my bank account on a windows PC using Firefox, the password was accepted but the account failed to open due to an error. Previously it worked like a charm, but my bank updated its security and it hasn't worked since. However if I perform the same operation on Google Chrome it works. I have a similar experience on a few other web sites. Is there something in my Firefox settings preventing this from happening? Cheers,

I installed a user.js script to my profile, and even after deleting the file itself, the settings keep changing to what it wants, despite the file being deleted.

I've been troubleshooting this for a few hours now, and i surmise it got embedded in my firefox account somehow, because when i close firefox in task manager i can see a bunch of firefox processes doing stuff for about 30 seconds, and if i launch firefox again after that my browser is messed up.

In window's firewall i set a rule to not let firefox send and receive packets and while a block on receiving didnt do anything, the block on firefox sending data did prevent it from applying that fking user.js script. However, if firefox cant talk to websites its obviously useless, so im stumped.

I have deleted every single folder on my computer firefox uses, including cleaning the registry of its things aswell, so it has to be downloading that script from some server, but i havent been able to figure out from where. I assume its attached to my firefox account because, where else could it be getting the script from?

When i was installing the user.js script, i had no clue it would be so damn hard to get rid of. Thank fuck i have a backup of my profile.

I have problem in Mozilla Firefox 118 and 119 about company web app. There are several input[text] and textarea that can't type in them. But in other browsers are fine and Mozilla Firefox ver. 117 is fine too.

Btw, this app using AngularJS.

Any idea what happen and are there any solutions for this problem ?

Recently I have had multiple occurrences of Firefox "freezing" and I have to shutdown the browser which then reports the fault to Microsoft. It seems to happen when I click on the button to Maximise the browser window. I'm running Windows 11. It generally does restore the browser tabs successfully but is nevertheless irritating and a recent phenomenom.

While on michaels.com I click on a product, it goes to the product then immediately the screen goes blank. It also happens when I do a search, multiple products show up, then the screen goes blank. I don't have that issues on other websites. What is going on and how do I solve this issue?

I've been using firefox for 10 years and this is the first time this is happening on me. Firefox was working fine but it does not work starting yesterday, simple task like opening and starting a new tab firefox took more than 20 seconds. None of the pages are showing anything, even those about:config pages are not working Every other browsers, like safari and chrome is working perfectly.

I tried to refresh, reset, safe mode, uninstall and deleted library/caches/firefox, library/application support/firefox, but the same problem still occurs.

My specs: macos 14.1. intel 13900kf, 6800xt, corsair vengeance ddr5 48gb, wd 850x ssd

PLEASE HELP!

So I opened firefox as usual, which automatically restores my previous session, but only one tab was showing, and the rest were blank and had no addresses. Then I opened firefox again after closing, and only the last tab, of the previous tabs was showing. After that I looked for restore last session, but it was nowhere to be found. What I did find, was restore recently closed tabs, so i selected that. But of course, these were the recently closed tabs, and not my previous session. After looking around on the internet, I quickly found sessionstore files, but at that point, my past files had been updated.

Where does firefox house deleted/updated files? And how can I recover "previous" sessionstore files?

I am unable to play any videos on firefox only because of this WidevindCDN crash messages. i have updated firefox to the latest version and restarted the device and tried again however this error keeps showing up and doesnt let any video play. Please fix

Some websites display poorly on Firefox 119.0 on my Dell computer running Windows 11. Some of the letters of the fonts are too thin and hard to read. They display correctly in Edge.

I have used Inspect Element to see that the font is: font-family: Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;

The problem goes away if I change this to: font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;

I do not have the Roboto or Helvetica fonts installed on my computer.

The problem fixes itself if I turn off the setting for "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selection above." However, this is not a good solution, because it introduces other issues.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have researched this for several hours and tried many of the suggestions online.

1) I have disabled all extensions. 2) I don't have any Themes installed in Firefox. 3) I have tried "Smooth edges of images and text" turned on and off. 4) The problem still occurs when running Firefox in Safe Mode. 5) I don't have a "High Contrast theme" enabled in the OS settings. 6) I am not running uBlock Origin. 7) I have played with Clear Type but the problem was occurring before that. I have tried modifying Firefox's gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.gamma to the value of GammaLevel from Windows's registry Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Avalon.Graphics\DISPLAY1. 8) I haven't installed any fonts on my computer. 9) I tried setting security.sandbox.content.level = 1.

Was getting some crash reports....now have a black bar on top of new tabs...it finally scrolls when you are halfway down the page. any help would be appreciated.
