Hi jscher2000, I want to thank you for your advice concerning a problem I had downloading Firefox to my Windows 10 laptop. I tried to follow your advice but was not successful. In the end, I googled "what if Firefox doesn't install". It took me to a website, https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-firefox-not-installing-windows , which took me to an article entitled "8 Fixes to Try if Firefox Won't Install on Windows". I tried #1 and #2 without success. #3, Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus Software, worked. Firefox is up and running. Feel free to share this with anyone who has a similar problem. I have long used multirow bookmark toolbar extension to give me 4 rows of bookmarks across the top of my Firefox window on Windows 10. After updating to this latest version, the extension is gone. Any mention of it in about:config is gone. I don't know if it ever was mentioned in userChrome.css but it's not there either. It's as though it never existed. WTH?

Can anyone suggest how to get a multirow display of my toolbar bookmarks? Thanks in advance.

On a related rant: This is why I hate upgrading Firefox. Something useful and common sense always breaks. I'm going to open a separate question to figure out how to get the cursor focus back into the Google search box when I open a new tab using Google as the home page. None of the previous solutions is working with this version. This break in basic functionality has happened after many different upgrades of Firefox and I am frankly sick of fixing the same ridiculous problem over and over.

I am trying to download a large file. Am on a course, and the main tutor has given the group a file to download. Have tried downloading this 5 times, but get little luck. The file that I would want to download is 8.5GB, and the furthest I get is about 4GB.

I have 2 questions about this.

1) I seem to have a very 'in and out internet connection. It seems to go down at times for no reason, cutting off the download. Is there anything I could do about this? How could I troubleshoot this, please? 2) Does anybody know of any special tools that I can use to download in a more efficient manner, please? Perhaps an extension for Firefox might be able to do this, perhaps? Kind Regards to Anyone Answering this Query, Marek

Craig Davies is my name and I live in Adelaide Australia. 10 Days ago I received advice that my email address is closing in a week so I have had to get a new email address. I can't work out how to change my email address and password in your records. My new email address is [edited] @gmail.com My old email address was [edited] @internode.on.net. Can someone please advise me how I notify firefox of this change

Only with Firefox (default) and Norton 360 My Norton page, the page does not recognize that the Password Manager is already set up and active. The Password Manager button erroneously shows "Set Up", and when pressed the surrounding oval turns blue and nothing else happens - forever! That button should say "Access Vault". Also, he Feature Setup incorrectly shows Password Manager as not being setup when it already is on, active, and functioning in other areas of Norton 360, and surprisingly through the Firefox browser extension NPM button. This apparent MY Norton syncing problem only happens with Firefox, not when using Edge or Chrome.

i want to autoupdate firefox silently on a bunch of servers. When the mentioned settings are in place i'm still promted to update firefox when opening it. This isn't possible for the users as this is something a systemengineer should do. Is there anything i'm missing for a silent autoupdate? There is no JSON file in place. these settings have been distributed by a GPO.

My current install of Firefox seems to be corrupted, because every time i try starting firefox, even in safe mode, it says "Could not load XPCOM". So my only option now is to reinstall, but i have some password and my search history and bookmarks and generall data to backup. So my question is how can i do this. Im on a Windows 10 22H2 Machine, and i am a pretty expirienced computer user.

Firefox bookmarks exported from old Windows PC to html file. File transferred to new Windows PC and imported into Firefox. 'Bookmarks Imported Successfully' message seen. However no bookmarks visible in Firefox bookmark menu. Suggestions please?

I made a mistake and installed Firefox in the wrong location. I uninstalled and attempted to reinstall where I wanted the software to be.

The installer now tells me that I had Firefox before and will only reinstall it in the previous directory. No other option is offered.

I am LONG used to being deprived of user choice by the likes of Microsoft or Apple, but Mozilla SHOULD KNOW BETTER.

While downloading XLS file from some webpage, it is converting as PDF ( File extension is changing from XLS to PDF) , Same is downloading properly in other browsers

New computer (Windows 11) shows 'Old Firefox Data'. Opened hidden files. Using File Explorer found Profile Folder & renamed it 'old'. Copied and pasted 'Old Firefox Data' as new profile. Firefox would not open. Had to remove etc and Firefox worked again. Thought this maybe the easiest way to get my Bookmarks back.

PS Presume Profile Folder does not contain Thunderbird Addresses?

Why is this so difficult? I keep getting the attachment. How do I stop it? I NEVER WANT FIREFOX TO TELL ME THERE IS AN UPDATE. I will check and update when I'm ready. How do I stop this?

Firefox browser no longer on W7 laptop. Followed instructions-downloaded setup and installer. Neither will do anything - message says no program association to implement thses files. Help!
