Firefox is having problems with certain web sites

Description

Today Firefox was updated to 3.6.4 on my IBM T23 laptop running XP Pro. It now hangs and does not respond after clicking on a link in my.yahoo.com, and www. bloomberg.com. My desktop running Windows 2000, also updated to Firefox 3.6.4, does not do this

while watching a video and i click on full screen my screen goes white--i can still hear the program but no picture ...please make any suggestions in terms that even a 3 year old could understand--that's about my level of computer-ability...thank you ...jb

When I click on the link to http://www.vienna.at/resource.aspx/ResourceID/news-20080805-01032166-image (found in the page http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=1777), I get the dialog "What should FF do with this file", where I can select to open a new FF or to save the file, but are unable to make the image simply being displayed like other links to other images. I don't know where the difference to regular image links is.

My bookmarks are not missing because I can access them via the sidebar.

However, I prefer the dropdown box on the Menu Bar for my Bookmarks. It's easier for me.

The Bookmarks dropdown box has disappeared and I cannot determine how to restore it on the Menu Bar. The Menu Bar is still showing and not hidden... just no bookmarks.

Any help is appreciated. Carl

Over the last few day the interent has been crashing with the following response - "plugin container for firefox has stopped working." Why and how can I fix this issue?

When I visit some websites, I get a "missing plug-in needed" warning for certain media content. When I click through, it demands that QuickTime be installed. I have the very latest version of QT and the FF QT plug-in already. This has been an issue for a couple of years, through earlier FF versions and QT versions. I'm wondering if this a page html coding issue, and has nothing to do with FF or QT?

I don't need or want the Quick Search function on Firefox. Simply deleting the Quick Search bookmarks folder doesn't get rid of it because it automatically reappears as soon as I restart Firefox. How do I disable this feature altogether?

None of my add-ons seem to be working although when I look at my add-on list they are enabled. Also, I am unable to install a new add-on.

I cannot print from the internet when using Firefox. My printer prints fine when I use safari. To print from Firefox I have to copy and paste to a Word document. My printer used to print just fine from firefox, but it suddenly stopped.

My wife and I have five Yahoo mail accounts between us and we only use the Firefox browser. We used to get on log-om IDs and passwords saved thru Firefox and we didn't have to re-enter our ID info. Now, every time we sign-out of Firefox, we have to re-enter the ID and password each time. Is this a Yahoo Mail or Firefox issue?

In Internet Explorer, the Favourites bar has little arrows next to each entry that allow you to open new tabs without having to left click. I can't seem to find anything like this for Bookmarks in Firefox. Sorry for posting this question, but I've searched your FAQ with no success.

This new process associated with with the recent Firefox Update to 3.6.4 is just hammering my system, with Plugin-Container.exe stealing about 60% CPU time from other applications on XP SP3. This problem only started with the upgrade that Firefox was nagging me to install and I followed the Firefox application instructions telling me to reinstall/upgrade Adobe Flash (even though I already had the most recent version, as I do with all my extensions and plugins. This version isn't ready for release. How do I roll back to the previous version of Firefox? Thanks.
