So I had a crazy number of bookmarks, many duplicates. I did a major cleanup of dupes. I now see about 20 "other Bookmarks" folders in my MENU. I tried consolidating them, moving their order in the list, deleting, etc. The act like a ghost in the machine.

Lots of strange behavior: If I drag to reposition, it makes a duplicate, they multiply on their own....

I use my sessions and wonder if it somehow related. I don't want an others bookmarks showing up in my list, I'm grouping via folders according to what i want to see, and other bookmarks ain't it. Especially unruly multiples of such. All I have found was how to hide on the bookmarks toolbar, which I do not like, nor use.

I recently ran an AVG cleanup operation. Afterwards almost all of my bookmarks no longer linked to their respective websites. I relinked the ones on my toolbar, but none of the other bookmarks are operative.

Lost bookmarks during changing hdd for a friend of mine. Didn't backed up bookmarks and, unfortunately, he didn't sync his profile. At least we set another ssd, I wiped affected drive before installation. So, I've managed to recover data from Firefox profile, but when I tried to recover bookmarks and bookmarks backups, firefox stated, that that it's unsupported file. From both places.sqlite and .jsonlz4 backups. I've dived deeper and here's what I tried reading similar problems: -Checked via SQLite Manager firefox extenshion -Installed SeaMonkey browser -Tried to restore hdd using different software: Recuva and recoverit (this managed to restore folders structure) -Other weird solutions which didn't help as well

P.s. last solution I thought about: restore the whole disk with operating system and profile, but I doubt that it'll work. Thank you in advance!

Firefox updated today and now my bookmark folders are missing, though the bar is still displaying. I see them in the bookmarks toolbar menu accessed at the top, but I like to see them while browsing.

I still have no bookmarks. I have restarted the computer a number of times. I also renamed the places.sqlite adding a 1 after places as it said in other directions. I have also refreshed.

Yesterday, I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled after receipt of your response. It said all cookies, history, bookmarks etc transferred successfully. However, I keep getting the message “ and Bookmarks and history systems will not be functional because one of Firefox’s file is in use by another application. Some security software can cause the problem. I use McAfee, I’ve always used it. I have not changed it.

I did not do anything with favicon file as I don’t know what to do, I understand you can delete that. If there is a list of more than one, then what do I do.

As I indicated, I an NOT a technical person.

Hello all there,

after the latest update to FF 92.0 the bookmarks which are organized in folders enlarged its line space between. Unfortunately very less bookmarks can be seen at once. How can I set the spaces between those bookmarks?

I truly hope the developers at least refer to this site for concern requests for fixes.

It seems every about:config fix for the spacing of the bookmarks as well as the photon/proton fixes are doing nothing on Firefox version 91.

Is there anyway to get a simple checkbox that fixes the views for desktop? The whole world is not working on tablets or phones and this is so frustrating to see functionality continually broken with updates that are obviously required because of security issues that plague the online world.

Can any developers please respond to when users can see a fix to this issue? I know this is far from life ending but it breaks the visual aspect of the browser so badly.

I REALLY dislike the new bookmark pull-down feature, which has larger fonts and far too much space between bookmarks. Now I have to scroll (for which I can't use the mouse) to get to the bottom of a long bookmark list. I prefer older versions.

How may I change the appearance of this feature?

I use the sidebar to see my bookmarks on the left side of the screen. When using the Search bookmarks box there used to be an X on the right side to clear the search setting. That X is now gone which means I now have to close & reopen Bookmarks to clear the box. I believe this issue started with version 93 but I can't say for sure if it worked in version 92.

I have problems in some favicon of bookmarks. (Wrong favicon) How can i reload favicon of a specific bookmark? There is an extension for this job : [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../|CheckMarks] But this extension has no option to reload favicon of bookmarks individually for force firefox to reload favicon of a specific bookmark! Please give me a solution on this. In some years ago there was an extension with name favicon reloader. It was ok. But does not exist anymore.

After reinstalling Firefox (to new 64-bit version), I've lost all of my favicons. I'm seeing that only way to get them back is to individually select each bookmark. Is there a way to get the bookmarks to go and automatically download their favicons so my bookmarks will be repopulated again?

Hi. I tried to import my bookmarks from Google to Firefox (on a Mac) as per the instructions but no joy. I followed the process and at the end it says that the process was successful, but when I look in the Manage Bookmarks area (and everywhere else), the bookmarks are not there. Help please.

Hello, I signed in to Firefox on a new computer and it appears to have synced to the new computer, overwriting and erasing all my bookmarks. I use Firefox at work because I need to move through several computers. Firefox allows me to bring my bookmarks with me to each station. Now it appears I may have erased all my bookmarks by syncing this new computer, not the other way around as it always has. Please help me recover my bookmarks.

I got a new computer, installed Firefox. I was able to transfer all my passwords, but none of my bookmarks came with. I deleted and reinstalled a few time to no avail, I was able to get everything over with chrome (is firefox on my other computer), but this one I cannot even add a bookmark by clicking on the star.....

I have tried to follow you guidlines but do not see any way to import my cv file. Only options are from other browsers. the file I want is from Firefox I saved earlier. systems had to be reinstalled and I am trying to recover. thanks

In the bookmarks sidebar (Win 10 PC), when using "search bookmarks" and after typing an entry to locate, I thought that there used to be a "button" (x) in the far right of the search field that would clear any entry and return the view of bookmarks in the sidebar to that which was displayed prior to the search.

Has something changed or was I just imagining this.

If my rampant imagination is at work, please consider this a feature request

Have a new laptop. Must reset all my bookmarks from scratch. So far, all are appearing across top of screen. Cannot seem to set it up along left side of my screen in a column like I used to have. HELP  ??? Thanks!

Hello - Firefox Bookmarks are wonderfully intuitive and hardly need the well written instructions. However, in Manage Bookmarks, I search and find the Bookmark I want but can't see or find which folder it's in. Thus I can't sort it or move it to another folder. A column in search results showing Folder would be fabulous!

My FIrefox was freezing. I did a refresh. My bookmarks, which I had on the left of the page, are now at the top. The icon that I could click to make the bookmarks on the left, which used to be at the top of the page, is gone. How do I get my bookmarks on the left of the page?
