This problem exists ONLY on Firefox. I vary search engines, from DuckDuckGo to Presearch and Startpage depending on the search results I get.

For no apparent reason I will get a "suspended connection" message on Startpage while using the Firefox browser. I have included both the link and a screenshot of the problematic page. The page will open perfectly several times, and then suddenly, in the same session, if I open a new Startpage tab, this message will appear. While the suspended connection message is visible in Firefox / Startpage, I will try Startpage in Edge, Opera, Chrome and Midori, and they all open to the Starpage beautifully.

I am using the Firefox 125.0.3 browser, I have cleared caches and cookies, and run full malware scans, with zero negative results, and yet this problem persists. It is sporadic, and does not occur on a predictable basis. It occurs whether the Mozilla VPN is on or not, and switching from on to off or off to on changes nothing, even after refreshing the page.

I am assuming that this is a Firefox issue, as the problem does not occur on other browsers

I can easily switch browsers and / or search engines, but Firefox in conjuction with Startpage is my preferred combo. I just find it frustrating in that I cannot fix it myself.

When I try to customize the toolbar in Firefox 115.10, the browser tries to change the page to the customize toolbar / overflow toolbar page. However the page flashes on and then reverts to the normal browser page. The page showing customize toolbar/ overflow toolbar, is transient and does not last. So I can't even customize the order of the buttons on my toolbar. This wasn't a problem a few days ago before the switch to this latest version. In particular I am trying to change the position of the "home" button to the left side of the address box. I just can't bring up the customize toolbar page. I'm not talking about the position of the add-on or extension buttons...just the home button. Hope this is clear. By the way, I've even tried this in safe mode to no avail.

Ever since Firefox browser updated, my Home (specifically Shortcuts) has been glitching.

They do not show up, no matter how many rows I add or subtract. Web search and Recent activity still works (to an extent) but Shortcuts? Never again. Please fix it ASAP.

I am replacing a ten yr. old Dell Desktop with a new HP Laptop. Can you please let me know how to get the new laptop working with my existing Firefox (v125.0.3) with current add-ons, extensions and settings? Thank you for your time !! Rick Perry

Specifically on the MSIX version of Firefox available in the Microsoft Store, what directory does Firefox look in for native manifests?

The problem I need to solve is that I need to place a native manifest in a location where Firefox can see it, specifically in the new Windows MSIX installer. This seems to be reasonably straightforward, if I can confirm where that is.

hello firefox support, i recently signed into firefox on desktop but now i cant seem to remeber the account password so after making a new password after clicking on forgot password ,will i lose my bookmarks and ad-ons and all the customized settings? pls help me in this situation i dont want to lose my data pls .

Currently, when I try and open downloaded .txt files and .log files (that is, when I click on them directly from the download pop-up that appears at the top-right of the browser), Firefox inexplicably opens Aegisub on my machine as the app to use. This is in contrast to when I open it directly from within my file browser, where it opens the Kate text editor, as suggested by the default app option in the permissions of the filetype.

How do I change the apps Firefox uses to open downloaded files? I've tried going into my settings and looking at applications, but .txt and .log don't appear, so I'm not quite sure what to do.

I'm on Kubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, using the Firefox deb package.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra running latest Android update and latest Firefox update. I set Firefox as my default browser. I have un-installed all updates for Samsung Internet and removed all permissions for it. Disabling it is greyed out. Some apps that I use have links to websites. Too frequently, when I go to one of those links, the intro screen for Samsung Internet opens. Then, when I look at the settings in Firefox it is no longer set as the default. Then I set Firefox to default and go to my phone settings to see that Firefox is selected as the default. If I open the previously mentioned app and choose the web link, Firefox will open. But somewhere along the way, the default changes back to Samsung Internet and it's a vicious circle. I have posted in a Samsung forum but haven't gotten a reply that solved the problem. Please help. What's the best way to set up Startpage private search in Firefox? Should I manually change the settings or install the extension? Also, it seems like Firefox could improve the process for us.

My company recently started using ActivTrak Monitoring software and I need some help configuring the setup for Apple computers. I'm trying to create a custom .mobileconfig to automatically turn on the browser extension and then stop the end users from turning the add-on off. I can successfully install and lock the extension on once installed but need to manually activate the add-on first. What do I need to add to the plist to enable the extension automatically?

When accessing my site (in attachment to avoid indexing), Firefox blocks with a "Possible security risk" interstitial. DoH requests to the configured https://dns.google/dns-query service work from an external application on the same machine as the browser, but about:networking#dnslookuptool reports the host being unknown.

I am always having this problem of losing all of my open tabs. I am sure I am not the only person who has many parallel task running. Then, for whatever reason, the browser crashes, and in opening the browser, the single "Restore Previous Session" button is the only lifeline back to all of that work.

Would it be too much to ask for a simple session restore feature that is indexed to history? So we could go back to yesterday's session, or last week's, and not lose so much.

This loss of ongoing work happens to me 2-3 times a year, and amounts to untold losses of time, effort, and money.

OPEN PREVIOUS WINDOWS AND TABS is unchecked but upon startup firefox always tries to do this and I get an error message. Computer crashes, shutoffs, sleep mode and Firefox wants to go to my previous windows and tabs : I HAVE IT UNCHECKED FOR A REASON, I DON'T WANT TO GO TO PREVIOUS TABS.

Hello, How can we disable QUIC with the latest ADMX or via registry entry on Windows 10. I see not settings under ADMX that can assist in doing so. I dont mind implementing a registry entry in GPO as well.

I using kubuntu (ubuntu with kde) 22.04 and firefox will not recognize my security key. There is a really good thread on this here. It is now closed.

One of the solutions is to install firefox from the mozilla server. On other forums, this is referred to removing snap and installing the debs. I haven't tried this.

Reading through the thread however, it seems like the snap version should work. The manufacurers id and product code for my Thetis FIDO2 usb key are present in the etc/udev/rules.d/70-snap.firefox.rules

This answer says to disable apparmor. I tried that, but it didn't work.

This isn't actually a firefox problem. KDE Neon uses the firefox package from the Mozilla Team PPA and there's nothing wrong with that package. The problem is that Neon enables app armor on firefox which breaks access to password managers and security keys. sudo aa-disable usr.bin.firefox works around the problem by disabling app armor for firefox. aa-complain was not sufficient in this case.

Is there anything else I can try?

I can add the short cuts I want but if I go someplace new Firefox will add it to my shortcuts without permission. This seems to be a new problem, and I don't like it! Then if I dismiss or delete from history its still not removed! Very annoying and may cause me to ditch Firefox for good!
