When I checked this morning, one of my WordPress sites only displayed a few of its images in Firefox, although they all display fine in Chrome, Internet Explorer and Vivaldi. I've tried disabling all add-ons, which didn't help. So I backed up my profile and updated to Firefox 49.0.2, which seemed to fix it. But after about 15-20 minutes, I saw that the problem returned. And there aren't even place-holders displaying... the images just aren't there. Also, when I go to the media library, NONE of those images display there, although their descriptions are all present when I click on them. And if I snag their URLs and enter them directly into my address bar, Firefox displays them fine. I had a friend check with FF too, and everything loaded fine. I'd really appreciate any ideas on where this problem might exist. It seems to only be a problem when FF goes to my pages, because the images will load independently. This has me thoroughly stumped! The site is http://topshelfcopy.com/ and the two large images beneath the nav bar are http://topshelfcopy.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Surf1-cropped.jpg and http://topshelfcopy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/banner2a.gif

Firefox has been crashing intermittently until yesterday, it began crashing every time I tried to start it. Now I cannot even open it in safe mode. I have tried uninstall and reinstall via synaptic on my Linux Mint 17 system. Below is the most recent crash report:

OK, so what in the heck is going on ..... !?

It seems like ever since a few MS patch Tuesdays a while ago my Firefox'es are now acting like crap ..... I'm getting constant crashes and restarts! I can't even run it on some machines at home now so I have to use chrome because flash stuff keeps barfing ....

I'm also getting this constant crap where its asking me where it keeps asking me if I want to allow all of my add-in's - constantly!! (see attachment) It opens multiple tabs across the top for each of my add-in's - "oh do you want to allow this" - well DUH - WTF ?? - I added them in for a reason!!!

I am getting so pissed with Firefox I've even resorted to added Chrome on to all of my systems, Booo!

It used to be a good stable browser, why is it screwing up the same way on 5 different PC's? Yes, you can tell from my tone that it's driving me nuts!!! It almost feels like MS did something in the last few batches in Patch Tues to deliberately screw up Fire fox!!

Is anyone else seeing this .....?

Cheers' Dave

I've been using Firefox for years...since early 2005 and it has been a dream. But recently it has started to crash and the Plugin container regularly uses 50% of my memory and this has increased to over 95% causing the computer to freeze altogether. Even trying to open task manager to close Firefox has on one occasion taken 20 minutes. This seems to have only recently started to happen since I "upgraded" to Firefox ver 49.0.2 I have tried installing earlier versions, but keep getting annoying popups to upgrade, so I've reinstalled 49.0.2. I know earlier versions may have security issues, but anything has to be preferable to the Plugin container taking over my computer. It still happens now, even thought I have disabled all my plugins/add-ons listed below I have an Acer laptop with 4Gb memory and running W 8.1 Help in resolving this would be appreciated Eddie

Hello. I'll do my best to be succinct here.

1. It started with Flash no longer working. Couldn't even load the Flash settings tabs. Worked in other browsers though. Changed some settings as described in these forums. This helped but only briefly. Flash stopped working again.

2. Did the "refresh" thing. This created new problems. Although add-ons weren't displaying in the add-ons tab, they were still there and operating in the background. Flash again worked but only for an hour.

3. I wanted to do a complete delete (using Revo) and re-install of Firefox. Somehow even after doing this, some settings (and incredibly, add-ons) remained.

4. I installed the x64 version, since this would give me a new install and hopefully a fresh start - the previous FF version I was using was the x32 version. This worked for a few days, but again, Flash died completely again.

5. Tried the refresh here too, and oddly, an ad blocking add-on is still operating in the background, even though it doesn't show in the add-ons tab.

6. I tried some other random things I found on these forums and online, such as scanning my hard drive for corrupted files. None were found. Some of the proposed solutions are a bit above my experience level, and/or aren't explained well, so I didn't attempt them.

7. At this time I have Flash working, and still have intermittent ad-blocking. I have no installed any add-ons since doing the refresh on the x64 version. (The x32 version is uninstalled.)

So, (A) what is going on here? (B) Why doesn't Firefox make it easier to do a COMPLETE uninstall and purge of all program-related files, in order to do a true clean install? (C) Any suggestions?

This is driving me crazy and beyond frustration. Now, I have tried every thing mentioned in the blogs none of the suggestions work ,so lets take a fresh look. My version is 49.0.2 The web pages are usually newspapers The Sydney Morning Herald and the Guardian. When Icut and paste these pages into Chrome or Opera they work fine, but Firefox .well sometimes I get sound and no picture, sometimes I get nothing. I also notice i can't log into any of the blogs on these newspapers, the button for comments just isn't there , it's gone, and yet once again I open these pages in another browser and I can comment, the button is there and all the log in details are available . Totally at the point of uninstalling Firefox forever.

Might have too many adobe acrobats installed? Dunno. There are 3 showing. Firefox used to work much better than Chrome. Now, Firefox is so bad and Chrome is actually working much better. Has the world been turned upside down :D?? The biggest problem is with playing Farmville, Zoo World and Solitaire Blitz on Facebook. It used to work fine. What happened? There used to be some plugin box that I could find in a folder, uncheck or delete, and then things would work fine, again. Am not computer savvy and cannot find that box, anymore :D. Apparently, some script or something in Adobe Acrobat was written incorrectly or something? I am on Windows Vista Home 32 bit.

Somebody please help.

I am using Firefox 49.0.2

For about a week FF has often been crashing a few minutes are I tell it to shut down. From watching the task manager and doing some research I am pretty sure this happens during or after it is creating sessionstore. js. But whether it crashed or not, session restore worked properly.

But as of today, if I have more than 5 or so tabs openwhen I shut down FF,, after appearing to be doing something for a while the task firefox.exe just sit there, seemingly forever, without doing any processing. If I get tired of waiting and force the task to end, judging by what I am presented with the next time I start FF sessionstore. js is either empty or not there, because the tabs from last time are not recreated when I open FF again, and if I type about:sessionrestore in the location bar, no tabs are presented to me to restore.

As I normally have at least 100 tabs open each session. I have wasted hours on this already today.

I have updated FireFox and noticed that when I begin typing in the address bar you added a 'search with Google' feature. When I browse to https://www.pandora.com/ I get the "Secure Connection Failed" error with exactly the same text as in the screenshot at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-connection-failed-error-message

This is a really poor error message. It tells me nothing about what's actually wrong and how to fix it. WHY did the secure connection fail? Is there any way to find this out?

The site gets an A- from SSL labs https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=www.pandora.com&lates... and definitely supports TLS 1.2, so I'm pretty sure the problem is with Firefox and not with Pandora, but the error message is horrible regardless.

Someone asked this before about a year ago but I didn't find any legit answers. Just suggesting to use a different theme which I don't want to do. Is there an option to disable this or an add-on? If not, Mozilla needs to address this because that thick blue border is just terrible looking.

Also note, this is not because of Windows 10. Windows 10 doesn't put any weird borders around URL box in Chrome or Edge. So I am pretty sure this is a FF issue.

Tried starting it in Safe Mode. Same thing. Tried refreshing it. Same thing. Uninstalled and did a clean install. Same issue. Followed every procedure I could find and nothing seems to work. Kind of wondering what's going on and how I can fix it so I can ditch Safari (useless POS browser)

Not very technical btw.

Thoughts?

I am trying to access a site called GameJolt (website is gamejolt.com) but nothing pulls up on the site. Now--PAY ATTENTION--there is no immediate visibility of any error. The site LOADS--its normal background is visible (different shades of gray pixels)--but nothing else from the site actually pulls up. Everything I can see is just that background. Now, when I click the info button in the top left corner, it comes up with the red lettering that says "Connection is Not Secure". That is the only way I know that there is an error.

I have searched a multitude of forums, all with supposed answers to this problem, and I have tried all of them. So again, pay attention, because I don't want you telling me to try what I've already tried. I have deleted the cert8 file. (NOTE: this was the only one that BRIEFLY worked, before taking away my access to ALL sites. I was forced to restore it, and everything went back to normal. Now it does nothing when I delete it.) I have also messed around with numerous settings on the about:config site, turning different things to false like people told me to, but nothing changed. (NOTE: I always turned everything back to the way it was after it didn't work. Everything is in its original state now.) I also tried adding an exception to the error, but entering in just the website does not come up with a certification that I can view. I saw that I perhaps needed to add the website's port number at the end, but I do not know what the port number is or how to find it.

There were probably more stuff I tried, but I don't remember them all because I tried so many things. Just please know that if there is any article or forum or post or any supposed solution out there, I have tried it. Please don't send me to some other post or another forum or whatever. I have tried everything, and nothing works. I need an answer.

Just so you have more to go on, I have tried different browsers, and they get the same result as Firefox. However, I have gone onto other computers, and they DO allow GameJolt to work. So perhaps it might be something my computer? Also, in terms of anti-virus programs, the only thing I think I have on my computer is the basic Windows Defender.

I have attached an image of my screen so you can see that there is no error screen, just the background of GameJolt that is shown, and that I have to click on the info button to find the error. Let me know if you need screen shots of other things, and I will happily give them to you. Thank you so much. :)
