Firefox Lockwise supportforum

After a fresh install of Debian and Firefox (this is 78.9.0esr), I signed in with my Firefox account, and all went well: I got all my bookmarks and recorded passwords for all kind of sites available. So far, so good.

But I changed my mind, and want to allow this computer to be used by other people (it's a coworking space), so I logged out from Firefox (disconnect this account) and observed that all bookmarks were still there (not a big deal for me) but also all passwords. They still show in login & password page (Lockwise). I went on to delete all history and all cookies etc... The passwords are still there. I can delete a password one at a time, it seems to work... but I have 50+ to do. There are no "delete all" option or menu on the Lockwise page.

I would really think that you should be able to benefit from these passwords when logged in but they should not appear when logged out. Even if I launch an incognito session, log in in the private window, all passwords have being synced in the non-private Firefox... Is there a way to avoid that?

Having gone through my list I manually setup each login and password to the websites I visit, confirming each had the correct login page I had. Everything worked great for the remainder of that day, but after restarting my computer today, no user names or passwords appear to have been saved, despite the fact that I entered the web page, my user name/email, password, then saved each and verified each worked in Firefox, I was even pleased to see it offered to create a new secure password for me when visiting a new site. Also I don't see the key icon for it on my browser.

Clicked on the three stacked bars, made sure I was logged into Firefox, went through even dropped down and menu I could find, started to enter a new address to see if it brought back my previous saved list, nothing.. ..

Any help would be appreciated as I did like the way it seemed to work, and it did work quiet well built into the browser like it is.

I was at a friends office and to avoid wasting time I created an account of his computer and logged into firefow and synced to get my tabs and shortcuts. When i got home and opened my own computer I noticed I had synced ALL HIS BUSINESS AND FAMILY PASSWORDS! This is my best friend so i am not a threat but what if I wasn't? he would have no idea i now have all passwords. I asked the community how I can remove them and they said manually one by one. OK not nice but possible. MY QUESTION: How do i remove MY PASSWORDS FROM HIS COMPUTER which is accessed by everyone in the office??? Do I have to go back to the office to manually delete all my passwords? If so how do I get into his Sync account if neither of us know the password to log in?

Lockwise didn't have a show password button while I was inputting my primary password, and I mistakenly believed I couldn't mistype a password twice the same way. I've no way of figuring out what it was I typed. I still have all of my logins on my android device, so I could just delete my local logins and resync them, but the reset primary password window says that resetting the password will delete all logins. Does it just mean the locally saved logins, meaning I can just reset the password and let it sync from my phone, or does resetting my password cause it to assume there's a security breach and actively wipe the logins from all my other devices?

Further to and in addition to the question asked by Pallas (March 13th, 2021), my question is the following: Is it safe to store all my usernames and passwords in Firefox Lockwise ? Or is it absolutely necessary to use a “Primary Password” ? In particular, is the use of this Primary Password absolutely necessary to protect the safety of my usernames and passwords against HACKERS or just in case my PC and/or device would be USED and/or STOLEN and/or otherwise physically tampered with by an other person ?

En particulier, est-ce qu’utiliser un mot de passe Principal est absolument nécessaire pour protéger mes identifiants et mots de passe contre des PIRATES INFORMATIQUES ou bien seulement au cas où mon PC et/ou appareil seraient utilisés et/ou volés et/ou par une autre personne ?

bold text I went to a friends office to help and logged in to my firefox account and perhaps synced it. when I got home I see lockwise added all my friends password to my account and perhaps vice versa. this is very troubling since every single password is there and anyone from his office could view all of them!

what can i do to separate the 2 lockwise accounts and how can I tell if all my passwords are merged with his?

I am trying to enter a long website address: https://xxxxx0760.yyyyyy.zzzzzz.com/web/nnn/login?forkPage=false#/routing Lockwise removes everything after the .com - is there a way to add/retain this information? The shortened version is just ignored by the web. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have selected to import my passwords that I have exported from 1password as a CSV file. After I select to import, the prompt disappears and it appears as though nothing has happened. Is there any way to check the progress of the import, or was it even successful?

Coming over from Lastpass, all csv imports to Lockwise went fine, but there are other useful fields in the old PW manager that can't be added to Lockwise. Things like PIN numbers and security answers were nicely stored in an "Extras" field in Lastpass. The Mozilla "give feedback" page for Mozilla is currently disabled.

I am stuck at the start screen. Cannot even authenticate by fingerprint.

Incidentally I noticed due to LastPass changing their pricing scheme, it looks like people are taking an interest in Lockwise. I wonder if it's due to the new traffic.

I'm in the process of migrating from a medley of passwords using Lockwise. However, while trying to change my Amazon password, lockwise is failing to generate a strong password. It's like it doesn't recognise the 'New Password' field but I have had no problems with this on a huge variety of other websites.

Anyone got any ideas of how to work around this?

I have an Excel spreadsheet of my logins/passwords, but am trying to find out it I can convert text to .JSON to add all data to lockwise file. Easier than one-at-a time...

The choices given in FF are to import from a file. Mine only offers *Import from another browser*. There appear to be online converting tools, but I am wary, because it is not widely offered as a solution on other reputable websites. I do not know all the reputable websites, of course.

I have the password registered in lockwise for https://www.sciencedirect.com/ but it doesn't work when you enter the site?

How can I set autosuggest login data (username & pasword) based on exact url, not only to look at the *.domain.com/*?

What do I mean: When I surf to domain.com sub1.domain.com sub2.domain.com sub1.domain.com sub1.domain.com domain.com/login1 domain.com/ADMIN/login2

on every url I get a full suggestion list of all known user accounts based on *.domain.com/*. It used to be different in the past..(i think pre-lockwise)

What I would like to see back, is when you go to the exact url like domain.com/login, only the account(s) wil be suggested that is connected to this exact url (narrow down the list), and not all from *domain.

This also might prevent the annyoing masterpassword prompt that is asked on every new firefox surfsession, even when I don't want to log in, instead only when you do want to fill in a loginform it is promted. (used to work that way)

I hope that you understand my 'problem' and hoep there is an easy setting for this.

My Firefox browser decided to update last night to version 82.0.3 and when I went to log in to some accounts this morning, all of my Lockwise passwords were missing. Luckily, I can still see them for now on my phone version of Firefox, but I have no idea how to get them back on my browser. I have tried using the sync button on the phone, but it won't update to the browser. Any tips on how to get all of my passwords back without having to manually input everything?

I had been a Firefox user for a very long time. And I used to store all my passwords in Firefox Lockwise. Everything was good until one day my computer froze while I was using Firefox. I had no other choice, but to restart my computer. After I restarted my device I found that Lost all my passwords. I tried many ways to get them back, but nothing worked. The thing that makes more confused is that all the password are still there in android Lockwise, But I could'nt sync it to my computer. I tried a lot and failed. Then I thought I will just start over and every time I wanted to login to something I would look in my phone and save it on my computer, I thought eventually I will get everything as before. But after a month same thing happened again. Still my passwords are safe on my phone, which has the same Firefox account as my computer, But my on my computer it shows "I have no passwords saved".. I tried all ways to sync my computer to my phone, Failed. I tried to change the 'login.jason.corrupt' file. Failed to work. So , what am I supposed to do to get the passwords back on my computer. Or get my android lockwise to sync with my computer. I am using Firefox on Ubuntu.
