Can I set all folders to sort bookmarks by name rather than have to select this for each folder individually?

The default setting seems to be that new bookmarks are added at the end of the current list. I prefer to have all bookmarks displayed in alphabetical order by name. At present I have to select this for each folder and as I have a great many folders this is a chore. It ought to be possible to change the default but I cannot see how.
