A Script Error Message Keeps Coming Up & TB Becomes Unresponsive [win10]
When I use TB, I get a script error message. It was coming up later after I was using TB for a while. And sometimes after I clicked either continue or stop script I could use TB for a bit longer before it became unresponsive.
But lately, the error message comes up immediately when I open TB and TB is unresponsive. I can't even close it. I have to use task manager to close it.
Here is the error message:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: chrome://messenger/content/folderDisplay.js:2070 Then I have a choice of "continue" or "stop script".
It doesn't matter. Whatever I choose, TB doesn't work.
I am using Windows 10 and Firefox 53.0.3 (32 bit)

Everything on that page seems to be about Firefox. I am not having a problem with Firefox. I am having a problem with Thunderbird.
I tried the time extension thing anyway. It didn't help.

Then perhaps you can also mention the version of Thunderbird you're using.

At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button 
, then select Help > Troubleshooting Information.

Same issue- Using Thunderbird 52.2.1 - Firefox 55.0 (32 bit) - Windows 7 (ALL updates installed) When opening Thunderbird, it hangs up 20-30 seconds & I get the unresponsive script error ; Script: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:270 - If I choose "stop script" wait & close Thunderbird, then re-open it, I no longer get the script error, but it runs slow. In internet and Mozilla Help searches, I see a number of unresponsive script errors like mine. My error is "chrome://messenger/content/mail3PaneWindowCommands.js:20". If I let the script continue, I get control back but when I go to another mail folder it becomes unresponsive again. If I let it sit till the green bar at the bottom right goes away it gets better. Recently I've been trying to clean up and remove older messages. I think it's trying to reindex after that. Currently my Inbox has 10,921 messages overall and 579 unread. (GMail) All Mail 22,433 and 2814. Local Folders 4443 and 4373. I have 52 Filters. Maybe I am reaching capacity. I can do any diagnostics you suggest or add details like the other posters. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
