On my Win 7 box, Thunderbird seems to be having access issues with my profiles. It can only find my profiles when running in administrator mode. I've tried resetting security info on several files, but have not found the right one. How can I find the culprit?

Hello all

as per subject is there a way to reply directly in the preview window like outlook and not in a new window? I tried to search in options but I can't see if there is a way. The pop up new window is a little annoying.

Messages I sent from my iphone are showing up in my inbox marked with a gold star and looking like they came from the recipient, but they werent. Almost like a reminder of an email I sent? - I mistake them for new incoming messages. Why is this happening and how do I make it stop???

Hi. I love Thunderbird! But I cannot use a Gmail account.

It all started when I changed the underlying password for my Gmail account (for routine security). I changed the password too on my Thunderbird client for SMTP and IMAP.

But then it popped up with: https://accounts.google.com/v3/signin/identifier?app_domain=http://localhost& [etc]

it keeps giving me this message:

"400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know."

I've tried to read online what's going on. I've deleted the account and tried to set up again, and closed Thunderbird. It keeps doing this. I've checked Google settings ... nothing untoward. It doesn't have a link to Thunderbird still.

What can I do?

Received an encrypted message but the content appears to be only my public key. Message not visible. Copy of same message was displayed in the clear in gmail on a computer that not set up to encrypt. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Have several folders and sub-folders for saving important emails in Thunderbird. One choice for saving subfolders. my master email address. I can save to this folder but cannot retrieve those emails. Attached is a screen shot. How do I retrieve emails from those folders???

I have thunderbird 115.11.0 (64-bit) on Linux After hitting the test button, I get this error message:

Component returned failure codeL 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIFile.createUnique]

Password OK

What does this mean? How do I fix it?

My GMail account is approaching the 15GB limit and so I will need to migrate my email from one Gmail account to another, specifying a date range. range (i.e., any email sent before June 2015). Can Thunderbird help me to do that? If so, what is the process I need to go through?

Hi, after reading the documentation i read that that automatic filters only apply to inbox and archive.

Hi have the following issue : sometimes i have fake positive for spam but these message are flooded in real spam. Some job offers answer can be in such folders.

Therefore i created a blacklist filter for spam so as to ease my spam review.

Unfortunately i i have to manually run them. Long time ago i had to go to message filters and then select the folder. Now i can easily click on the "Run filters on folder", option/alt T+R is also nice i am really grateful for that.

- Would it be possible to allow automatic run of filter on some specific/explicit directories ? (after thinking my question twice i understood that checking for circular rules can be very complicated, maybe a warning if a message is to be processes twice by the same rule) - Maybe add a one click shortcut ? button ? - An easy export/sync from/to imapfilter ?

Had all my emails stored locally. Accidentally uninstalled Thunderbird. Reinstalled. Unable to Import my old settings from my "profile". Error message says "Unexpected error" Was able to import configuration alone, but it was all wrong. Can't set up my gmail account. Error message "Malformed server" Please help

I've been reorganizing my folders, and while working on this, I will occasionally find that I can no longer create a new folder or rename an existing one, or, somewhat worse, when I rename a folder, it will disappear, along with the messages that were in it. The messages that were in the missing folder don't show up in a search, and aren't in trash.

If I close Tbird and quickfilters, and sometimes also restart the computer, the functions again work as they should (but the missing folders do not reappear). Rebuilding the parent folder doesn't recover the missing subfolder. The problem can happen when Tbird is the only open application.

Any idea what can cause this? Or where the missing emails might be?

Error message 'side by side configuration error'. I've been advised to re-install Thunderbird but not sure if I will lose my many thousands of emails and my address books etc.

Thunderbird refuses to connect to Gmail with password. Fresh install of Thunderbird. New password (triple verified I'm using the same password) OAuth2 enabled Gmail account entered correctly, Thunderbird contacts Gmail, secondary authentication text sent and verified, refuses to connect.

Outlook Office 365 - works gmail.com - works Thunderbird - "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password"

Incoming IMAP SSL/TLS imap.gmail.com

Outgoing SMTP SSL/TLS smtp.gmail.com

I'm debugging other problems. I go to troubleshoot mode and come back and my fonts changed.

I head into settings to fix this. Attached the view of my change while debugging to make it really big.

This does nothing. Thunderbird doesn't change the font, the size, nothing.

I'm starting to think I'm losing my mind.

I changed the password for one of my gmail accounts and now Thunderbird can't access it. It kept asking for verification. When I realized the problem I changed out the '@' but I can't change the password in Thunderbird. New emails are accessible in Gmail and Outlook but Thunderbird doesn't show then and nothing happens when I use 'get messages'. I need to delete the problem account to re-enter it, when I try to add the email address as a new account Thunderbird just says it already exists and does nothing.

Whenever i use quick filter to look for email. Thunderbird would tank and massively slow down. Is this common problem or is it just me. Sometimes the performance hit also bleed outside the app and slow the entire system.
