I may be missing something, but how can I remove threading completely from Thunderbird or how can I download an older version. I"ve searched for 102.15, but cannot find a way to download it. I really prefer NOT to use another email client. I've always used Thunderbird, but I cannot tolerate this threading thing and I can't seem to disable it.

Can you please let me know why the coloring of my text which was so simple in the earlier versions is no longer possible.

In such situations can you allow me to use an older version till you fix these bugs?

This is very frustrating and will be grateful if you can help.

I have been a donor and really want to see Thunderbird succeed.

I migrated Thunderbird from a windows 10 pc to a new windows 11 pc using Laplink PC mover software. It successfully copied all my messages, address book etc. but the appearance was nothing like it was on the windows 10 machine. I've fixed most of the problems but the column headers are barely visible. I can't find anything in the settings despite hours of trying. Attached is a screen shot of the barely visible column headers, indicated by the red arrow.

Any help will be appreciated,

Is there any way to fix the layout? The typeable / readable area is TOO small, and needs to be able to be resized according to user; the middle section showing to / from / subject / reply wastes way too much space.

Also, is there any way to TURN OFF the lumping / hiding of new emails with old ones that happen to be in some type of thread?

I want to use thunderbird both for my personal mail and work mail, but I don't want to carry my work with me 24/7 so I don't want to be bothered by email notifications or… (pročitajte više)

I want to use thunderbird both for my personal mail and work mail, but I don't want to carry my work with me 24/7 so I don't want to be bothered by email notifications or "unread messages" indicators when I'm off work.

Right now it seems like I can only disable these things for the app as a whole, not per account, but I do want those notifications and indicators 24/7 for my personal account. Are there any more advanced controls for creating rules for how and when new and unread emails are notified to me on a per account basis?

Every time I open thunderbird a pop up goes off for the new thunderbird supernova update. (my updates are set for auto).

How can I turn off the threading of my emails? Its driving me crazy as when an email comes in after a short time it disappears into the threads and then I have to open each thread to find out who sent the email. At one stage there were 6 emails noted near the inbox but no new unthreaded message, all went to respective threads. Very time wasting.

Hello, I have been using Thunderbird with the Manually Sort Folders app for years. The ability to place folders and subfolders where I need them is essential for what I do. With the latest Thunderbird "upgrade", it was downgraded as the Manually Sort Folders app is no longer useable. Until Mozilla fixes it to where either the app can be used or Thunderbird is improved so that it will let me sort folders itself, I cannot upgrade. Please either render the Manually Sort Folders app useable again or make Thunderbird so that folder can be sorted. Thank you.

I'm running Thunderbird 115.4.1 (64-bit), using Unified Folder options for most of my mail organization for three POP accounts.

When I manually clear the (unified) Junk folder, as soon as I answer "yes" to the little warning option (I have chosen to engage it), everything in the folder instantly disappears, along with the number-in-the-circle showing the number of unread messages.

When I take this same action with the (unified) Trash folder, I click "yes" and nothing at all appears to happen. All the messages continue to sit there. Once I navigate away to any other folder, and then come back to Trash, sure enough, it's empty. But the little number-in-the-circle that shows how many unread messages had been in the folder before it was cleared still sits there in the left column. That number does disappear, however, as soon as I navigate away from the Trash folder.

Just wondering why two similar folders act differently when emptied; seems Trash doesn't have the same smarts as Junk.

Hello, Linux environment is running on my chromebook, thunderbird has been installed. 2 issues: - When I try to install an extension, I always get a message "This extension will have permission to have unlimited access to thunderbird and the computer". and I'm stuck. The add button does not trigger any action. This does the same thing if I want to install a dictionary from the settings. - I have no access shared folders like my Drive on my Chromebook, despite having Linux sharing enabled. Cox.com has decided to no longer have their own email server and switched their accounts to yahoo. I can read my email directly on Yahoo, but can't get their imap to work. I changed the imap and smtp settings to yahoo. Also, the email login has changed and I changed that in Thunderbird. With Cox, the login was just "username" and now it is "username@cox.net". When I made these changes in the account settings, my email account has disappeared from the inbox, but it is still in account settings. I am using a unified inbox with several accounts.

Cox will not help me with this, and I have been on hold with yahoo for an hour with no response. I have been messing with this for two days so I hope you can help me.

It is exceedingly frustrating to read the entire inboxes (8 email accounts) in tiny, tiny letters. Tried to upload screen shot but it didn't seem to work (just kept spinning).

I tried using the solution given by Toad-Hall here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1267898 But it didn't work.

I made the documents he said to make and put them in all 6 of my email profiles (i guess I have 6 profiles due to all the different email addresses in there?). But everything is still tiny, tiny letters. Very hard on the eyes.

When I go to view -> zoom, nothing gets bigger. The text within an individual email will enlarge, just not the text of the inboxes.

Please can you tell me a simple solution (I am not that techy and don't want to spend another 2 hours on fixing this) for how to get my thunderbird app to appear readable? Otherwise I think I will ruin my eyes! Thanks!

By the way even my excel and word items at 100% on the 13" screen are small. But I am able to enlarge that each time I open it.

I've been using Thunderbird for years and had very few problems. I view and keep all my incoming and sent emails in date order, and move them to the relevant folders when they are dealt with. This morning my incoming emails also have other incoming emails, and my original sent email attached to them. I think this is called threading? but I have never set this up or asked for it, and don't even know how to do it. I'm finding this 'threading' is really annoying - I want all my emails separate and not joined or linked together. How do I disable this setting and stop all my emails joining together like this? I've looked at the help pages and the answers are too technical. I've tried the ones I can understand but they don't work. Can someone please send me a step by step solution to this? thank you Ray

I've been using Thunderbird for 3 years now and the subscribe function has been working flawlessly. Today (16/04) however all the folders I unsubscribed to are now being shown and I can't seem to unsubscribe to them.

When I right click my IMAP email, click Subscribe and uncheck the folders I don't want nothing happens.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, I am new to Thunderbird and not very computer savvy.

I have successfully set up my mail account and am trying to apply filters to incoming mail. The filter is very simple: If the message contains FROM "@mail.zillow.com" send the message to the ZILLOW folder (under that email address).

I have checked the filter log and it says "could not get filter db". I have tried to run the filter manually - no go.

I have tried to read about others who have a similar issue and it talks about debugging. I'm sorry. I do not know how to do this.
