With the latest update 115.11.0 the existing profile was not identified and loaded. All existing configurations, mail and address book are not accessible. The likely problem is the installer program that uses IP address as a factor in finding the correct Thunderbird account. I use VPN and do not have a static IP address. I have been shut down for several days now and any attempt on my part to resolve the issue has failed. The old email is very significant. Unannounced updates can cause serious trauma for Thunderbird users.

I received a message with the remark "This message contains an invitation to an event." What follows is several screens of metadata (that's what I think it's called), followed by the original note from the sender. Is there a way for me to suppress all this metadata? When I forward the message to a friend who has an iPad, it shows up without the metadata. I'd like that to be the situation when I use Thunderbird.
I've attached a screen shot of a portion of what I've called "metadata". I didn't include the very top of this metadata because it contains personal data.

Hello, when I put a photo in the text or in the signature, the photo is attached in the destination email, if I add the logo photo and social media photos, they all appear in the destination email attachment. Even when the person replies to our email, those images are attached to our email. I have put all the settings on HTML and tested different modes, but my problem has not been solved and when I activate or deactivate 'Attach the signature from a file instead' the problem is persist or don't show picture correctly. What is the solution that picture show correctly in email and don't appear in attachment?

I want to search a local folder and all its subfolders using eg "Match all of the following" but I could not find how to get a search containing these modes. After over half an hour I have found that the term I was looking for is "advanced search", available via a keyboard shortcut. I cannot possibly remember keyboard shortcuts, why do I have to log on to my Mozilla account just to find out how to do it? There should be a comprehensive user manual that I can download for looking up this sort of thing offline?

My Thunderbird 115.10.2 (64 bit) is lately running very slowly. Message content takes forever to show. Sometimes don't show at all. Sent messages take 20s to save.
I was thinking that my files were simply too large, so I erase everything before 2022-01-01. Where we are now:
Inbox 13,662 messages 3.0 gb All Mail 22,722 messages 5.8 gb Sent mail 5,175 messages 1.2 gb Important 13,093 messages 3.1 gb Other 4,700 messages (approx)
Questions: 1. Can I delete the "Important" messages, thereby perhaps freeing up 3.1 gb? In which case how do I do that?
2. Does this look like too many messages for TB? It's two and a half years worth. Like to keep it, but not at the expense of making the system so slow.
I have removed the databases twice and started with a new instance of TB, which is where we are now.

I recently un-installed an old version of Thunderbird that was showing a vulnerabilty and would not patch itself to the latest version for some reason (old version was in the 60s). I had all mail stored in a non-standard folder on my D drive so that it would be included with my backups. After uninstalling, my non-standard folder is still there. However, the location where Thunderbird was originally installed was removed and that is not included in my backups.
I installed today the newest version of Thunderbird, but I cannot get it to open my old mail. I'm able to login to my accounts, but I need to access the email stored in my non-standard storage file.

I reached out to Thunderbird, and all suggestions have failed to resolve the problem. Most recently I was instructed to submit the problem here. I hope this is sufficient for requesting assistance. This question was asked before but no one gave a reasonable answer. I use Thunderbird to download emails from two live.com accounts. The old version had a split screen with the list of emails for the account being viewed in the top half and a preview of the actual email being viewed in the bottom half along with action buttons such as delete. This supposedly also kept viruses from being downloaded until the email was actually downloaded. This made deleting a series of emails very easy. The version I downloaded today doesn't have the split screen. I have to actually open each email to delete it. Very time consuming. How can I set up the old format in the new version?

I have vision problems so i use enlarged text and color modifiers. The new mozilla thunderbird format SQUEEZES the text and shrinks it into HALF a screen. This is VERY difficult for me to even see… and navigat9ng thunderbirds menus has always been very difficult and not user friendly. Add to this the confusing reordering of emails received so that newer emails now stack UNDER older emails…. And its completely frustrating to find anything. I have to scroll down hunting for possible new emails burried down below dozens of others on a tiny scrunched window. PLEASE how do i change it back…. This is too difficult to function in………

Thunderbird refuses to connect to Gmail with password. Fresh install of Thunderbird. New password (triple verified I'm using the same password) OAuth2 enabled Gmail account entered correctly, Thunderbird contacts Gmail, secondary authentication text sent and verified, refuses to connect.
