I saw where this was a problem with Netflix, Amazon Video and other sites with Fire Fox and that one person even used professional version and still had the same problem.

What I cannot see is where he got the video codex that allow Netflix to work on Fire Fox version 88, let alone this newest version that Mozilla has created.

I've got FF set for https-only. But sometimes it will tell me no https is available but when I go to the site anyway it is https.

Is this a bug or is this something in my settings?

When clicking on a link to an .mp4 file, Firefox navigates to a builtin video player, streaming the remote video file. When Firefox is unable to stream or display a file (as is the case with .mkv or .txt for example), it is downloaded instead.

I simply want .mp4 files to be downloaded when I navigate to them. I tried setting `media.mp4.enabled` to `false`, and that worked, but it also disabled most embedded media players.

i am using Firefox Snap version 103.0.2 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 22.04. Whenever I try logging in to twitter, It shows a blank screen after I press login button after entering the password (Image is attached). I can login to other browsers I have installed on my laptop.

I have tried removing cookies of Twitter.com several times and even reinstalled snap version but the issue is still there. Any fixes for this? I can't keep switching browsers just for using twitter.

Firefox says I need a video codec to play a video (that is aparently somewhere on the page). It does NOT tell me what video, what video format, or what codec I need. How do I find out what codec I need?

I'm using my PC for local web development. I use Firefox as my regular browser and recently, in order to distinguish between personal time and development time, I've established a new profile just for development purposes.

The local website I can't reach is "site.local.dev". My OS is Ubuntu 20.04 and that URL points to a local IP on my network (resolved via /etc/hosts file on my PC).

Funny thing is that: - In dev-profile: site.local.dev does not work => "Unable to connect" and the URL bar shows https://site.local.dev even if I force it to http:// - In personal-profile: site.local.dev does work :P

I have tried with CLI tools like "wget", "hosts", "ping", "telnet" and so on and the site loads ok. Even I have used Dillo (damn simple web browser) and the site loads ok also.

Things I've tried so far: - Suggestions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can - Suggestions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1011327 (similar issue, not exactly the same).

It must be a silly thing but I'm out of options now. Perhaps anybody has faced to this situation in the past: any suggestion on this issue?.

I have different login forms on different sub domains so I always get a huge lists of different logins. and also I get my password for the basic auth from the web-server on my login form.

I also consider this as a security risk when different sub domains belong to different parties and I accidentally put my password into the wrong form.

Can I config Firefox the way that I get only passwords in the list that match the exact url or at least the (sub)domain?

Another Question As a Web-developer can I do something that my client don't experience such a mess (like giving the login form a special id so passwords are restricted do this particular form.

When I start entering an address or a search term into a new tab or new window I'll get "Search with Amazon" as top suggestion. How can I remove "Top Sites" suggestions on recent Firefox versions?

Is there any reason firefox would flag an mp4 file legitimately?

• The file extension and file type are absolutely mp4.
• There seem to be no mp4 related zero days.

Does Firefox perhaps just treat all downloads from suspicious domains as malware? Is there a zero day I missed? Is this based on some missing metadata on the file or something?

My firefox suddenly became very slow after an update. On each web page I have to wait maybe 10s, and nothing happens, and after that all is ok (really fast). Safe-mode didn't help. Thanks, Piero

However, whenever i get to the last step, it says "no remote refs found similar to firefox". I have no idea what i'm doing at this point, any help?

I've installed Debian 12 with Firefox 102.12.0esr (64-bit) from scratch instead of Debian 11. Just after it I noticed that all add-ons I used for a long time do not work anymore.

When I go to Menu > Add-ons and themes, I see all add-ons enabled. However, all of them do not work, and they even do not display their icons on the Firefox toolbar as they did before.

A couple of examples of add-ons that do not work: - Enhancer for YouTube - ImTranslator: Translator, Dictionary, TTS

I run Firefox via Firejail sandbox (like I did for years without any problems). All add-ons and settings came to my new system via Firefox sync. I tried to run Firefox directly (without Firejail) and nothing changed, add-ons still do not work. Also, I logged out of my Firefox sync account and reinstalled add-ons on Firefox running directly (without Firejail) and it did not help.

I have Firefox 102 ESR in Debian 11 (LXC in Chrome OS). It is the en_US version with Czech spell checking dictionary installed as an add-on. I can switch the spell checker from English to Czech in ordinary text areas by accessing the context menu via a right mouse click.

However, I'm using a proprietary e-commerce system (Shoptet) with a WYSIWIG editor that has its own context menu, overriding the default one in the browser. I can't switch the language for that reason. Is there a way to switch the spell checker language for a particular text area without access to the context menu? Thank you very much.

My windows install in my dualboot pc is unable to open at the moment, I can access the windows files from my linux. But i need the firefox data on that pc that I kept. I don't remember which email I used on that account so I'm kind of stuck on getting my data from online. Is there a way to recieve all the data from another drive without opening firefox?

Hello, I'm using Firefox 100.0.2 (OS: Ubuntu 20.04). It is not possible to manage if/when firefox updates are installed. In the options-section, there are some information about the current version number, however no chance to configure anything update-related. Updates just happens automatically and interrupt current sessions, leading to spontaneous (and surprising) dysfunction of the opened browser. That's very annoying in case of video conferencing, for example, because it is not possible to open any new tab or windows, always the note there "you have to restart firefox now" - in practice, just like a crashing error. And, the suggested restart does not re-open the current opened tabs/URLs!

Furthermore, within some updates, my language settings get lost, so it turns to English language automatically and I always must add my language packet manually again and again. Thats really annoying and maybe completely disruptive for people that are not able to read in English!

Is there any chance to come over this? Otherwise I guess I must leave using firefox as browser, however this would be not the aim I actually follow. Thx!

First experienced: Friday, Sept 2, when using burpsuite/foxyproxy during a hackerone CTF.

When using other Vbox instances on the same computer I have the same issue. This issue is usually easy to duplicate when using dev-tools or by simply doing an image search and moving the mouse across the images.

Crashes have seem to involve input from the mouse and scroll function within the browser. Once, let us call it a glitch, the crash can either take place while continually moving the mouse around the browser's page or immediately outside the page with the mouse. The "glitch" is a coloration, usually pink or lime-green with characters printed to screen and then disappears. I have been unable to predict when the glitch will happen, thus no screenshot to help.

Steps I have taken:

Googled on the problem which led me to learn about the Firefox about:crashes function.

Viewed about:crashes -- seems to be a Renderer issue linked to llvmpipe or Mesa?

Checked basic system logs for host and guest for anything evident: syslog, kern, Xorg, messages, dmesg, daemon, journalctl.

Used Firefox troubleshooting and extended troubleshooting.

Installed Firefox 104 with same issue.

Reinstalled VirtualBox.

Search on Firefox Renderer issue [from crash report]

     I turned off performance settings, still have same crash issue.

Last Report ID that did not fail to upload: bp-740acc47-0ed4-44a8-851c-ff21b0220905

Ultimately, I am unsure if this is a Firefox, VirtualBox, or Kali Linux issue, but Firefox is the one that this issue is having a severe impact on. My head is spinning at this moment due to all the logs and information I have digested over the weekend.

I appreciate any efforts in helping me decipher what is going on!
