How can I apply a policy based on "blocked_permissions". I've read Chrome documentation but I guess Firefox does not support this parameter. Right? If so, is there any way to request this feature?

Applying Preferences & Extension Management GPO's will bug certain GUI settings. The three examples I have are HTTPS-Only Mode & Forms and Autofill within about:preferences, and Enable USB Devices within about:debugging.

When HTTPS-Only Mode is set to "Don't Enable HTTPS-Only Mode" and locked via Preferences GPO, Users can continue to toggle between the settings. Forms and Autofill settings will not populate within about:preferences if address and credit card formfill values are false and locked via Preferences GPO. However, when the same GPO is deployed from Active Directory, Forms and Autofill settings will populate with address available for User toggle. Key, the values within about:config reflect what is set via GPO, and do not change among toggle or User intervention.

When locking down Enable USB Devices within about:debugging by blocking the extension install via Extension Management GPO, Users can continue to toggle the button after the policy applied. Although, just as previously mentioned, the extension does not get installed and seems the policy intervenes.

My questions being, are these simply GUI bugs since the values respect group policy? Are there other methods to lock down these settings?

I figured out that Comcast hijacked all my Firefox bookmarks and moved them to their internet email platform. I still like and will always use Fire-Fox. I today removed all my bookmarks from the Comcast platform that were my Fire Fox bookmarks and only left their one and only email bookmark on Comcast platform. I can only assume this was a per-arranged maneuver and you were aware of this. I sure the long 4th weekend made time for a underhanded switch over for Comcast.

we want to switch our Firefox configuration from file-based (policies.json) to GPO-based. We rolled out the GPO on some test clients and it worked like a charm.

But... It shows that there are some clients which need a second firefox installation for a special purpose, which is not allowed to enter the internet or update itself.

The file-base configuration can handle these to different installations with two differend policies.json files.

Is there a way to accomplish this scenario with the use of GPOs? The GPO-base configuration seems to be global for every client.

At this moment i don't see a solution for our problem. Do you see one?

I would like to hide the menu button located at the top right (the three lines button) or hide the access to the firefox settings (about:preferences) but I cannot find any GPO to do this. How can I hide this button?

I work for the local County and we recently got a new content provider that allows for SSL Inspection (Barracuda 410) but it requires a certificate to be installed on every device to work. I am aware of Edge having a way to create a custom installer that would allow us to preinstall the proper certificate, but was wondering if Firefox had the same thing. I am also needing to know that if we push out the version of Firefox with the certificate preinstalled, would it auto import our user's data from their current install of standard Firefox?

Is there a corresponding GPO for this setting? I have been unable to find it and searching hasn't yielded much help.

I'm on 102 ESR with up to date admx files. This would be super helpful!

Hi, trying to setup local update server for Firefox, and I hit on a problem:

Was testing on my PC which has for multiple reasons "normal" Firefox and get to the point where updates from local server are working, but then tried to test the PC where the ESR version is installed - was expecting the update will not be found, and I would download the MAR files for ESR, edit the update.xml.... but the ESR Firefox found and downloaded the "normal" update, but of course could not install it.

Is there a way to set in XML file that one update is only for ESR and another for Rapid release version of Firefox? How to setup local update server for both channels simultaneously?

Another minor question - is there a simple way how to get buildID for/from downloaded prebuild MAR file? Without it the in the XML file update process don't work correctly and only place I found it so far is in source code for that build.

We would like to disable ECH on our browsers as it is interfering with our Anti-virus Website blocks. I have identified the settings that need to be changed in about:config and was able to configure 2 of them to be controlled via a registry key but was not able to for another 3 as their keys should be placed in a different Key in the registry. I have searched all over but cannot identify the name for this Key.

The settings I need to manage are in the image. I was able to configure the settings beginning with network.dns but I am not sure how to manage the settings beginning with security.tls.ech

In my environment, we have Firefox version 117. Users get this pop up "You must log in to this network before you can access the Internet" (see snip 1) when they launch firefox. In order to get rid of we can toggle this preference setting to TRUE ""network.captive-portal-service.enabled" in the user's browser, which works fine. But i want to control this setting from GPO. I'm unable to find the GPO for the same in the GPO hive for FF. See snip 2 for 'Preferences' related GPOs.

But with this setting I'm unable to install it manually from https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/tree-tabs/ The message "An unexpected error occurred during installation." and a popup with the "blocked_install_message" "My Message" is displayed.

The same error occurs without the line (and the comma) "install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/tree-tabs/latest.xpi"

Maybe this has been already asked but i keep getting the quite opposite when searching.

is there a way that i can save passwords, for autofill purposes, for specific websites in Firefox using GPO?.

I have 4 computers, that are currently deployed with Firefox and all 4 should be able to login to a specific website with a given username and password. I would like to set the username and password for them stored in the Firefox password manager and let it autofill it for them when going to the given website.

Or should i do this using the created shortcut they received, deployed to their systems using GPO?

I have imported the ADMX and tried to add an extension but it does not appear. So I imported the admx and this is working because I have another custom oma-uri that sets the home pages.

Here is what I have for my custom oma-uri to try and get the 1password extension added to FireFox. It is coming back with an error, Any recommendations? I am currently trying to configure a very old network switch that requires Java. I have tried using the Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) but i cannot seem to find or get the java plugin installed. I also tried downloading and installing firefox version 51.

What could i do to resolve this issue? I also tried using internet explorer but my computer refuses to install internet explorer because "it is already installed" even though it is not.

Steps:

• Open Linux server via VNC
• Open Firefox
• Search the term "test"

Issue:

• The google result page doesn't fit into the window and has a horizontal scrollbar to see content on the right hand side

Note: I need my website to fit into browser properly at 100%(default) zoom itself for the purpose of automation because changing zoom level via selenium automation to press ctrl and minus 3 times causes unexpected behavior like even though value is filled in a textbox, it doesn't get sent in the API request payload. (Python 3.4.3, Selenium 3.12.0, GeckoDriver 0.31.0)

We have Firefox rapid-release (not ESR) deployed on Windows 10 across our Enterprise where users do not have local Administrator privileges.

Occasionally the rapid-release updates fail to be installed, with the updater requiring Admin privileges to execute. For example, today a user's Firefox 111.0.1 was asking for elevate to update to 112.0.

The IT team user accounts also are non-admin, but we have not run into this, and judging from the lack of support tickets on this I would say most of our users are not running into this either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid this, or troubleshoot further?
