Hello all,

We must use a third party application which can only be installed in user home directory. We'd like to create a GPO to manage user settings, and configure a handler for this application.

Is it possible to use an environnement variable (for example %LOCALAPPDATA%) in the path of a handler ?

Thank you.

Hi, Background: a few months ago I had to redeploy the CA for a network I manage. I was able to do so and publish the new intermediate CA's cert via Active Directory. Since then, I've updated certs on webhosts with certs from the new CA. Whenever a user uses FF (version 91.12.0) to browse to a site with the newly signed cert, I get an error stating "sec_error_ocsp_old". I've been able to temporarily advise users to disable OCSP Validation in FF security settings, but I'd REALLY like to fix this.

Other browsers (Edge, Chrome, Opera) all load the sites without issue.

Using this the below article, I double checked the time settings on the CA, Webserver, and clients: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-time-errors-secure-websites

All the machines/VMs in question show the same time source, time, time zone, and sync interval.

I'm at a loss for what is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I work for the local County and we recently got a new content provider that allows for SSL Inspection (Barracuda 410) but it requires a certificate to be installed on every device to work. I am aware of Edge having a way to create a custom installer that would allow us to preinstall the proper certificate, but was wondering if Firefox had the same thing. I am also needing to know that if we push out the version of Firefox with the certificate preinstalled, would it auto import our user's data from their current install of standard Firefox?

Hello,

I am trying to create a management policy for extensions where all themes are allowed, some extensions are force installed, other specified ones are allowed, and anything else is blocked. I have been scouring the web looking for samples and I just can't get it to work as intended. Here is a sample of what I have written.

{ "*": { "blocked_install_message": "IT has blocked the installation of UNAPPROVED add-ons. Please contact the IT Service Desk to request approval.", "install_sources": "https://addons.mozilla.org/*", "allowed_types": ["theme","extension"] }, "plugin@okta.com": { "installation_mode": "force_installed", "install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/3601147/okta_browser_plugin.xpi" }, "support@lastpass.com": { "installation_mode": "force_installed", "install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/lastpass-password-manager/latest.xpi" }, "developer@zoom.us": { "installation_mode": "allowed", "install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/4212428/zoom_new_scheduler-2.1.52.xpi" }, "info@katalon.com": { "installation_mode": "allowed", "install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/3826743/katalon_automation_record-5.5.3.xpi" } }

In this current state, I am allowed to install themes, I get the forced installs, but I can install ANY extension. I don't want that.

If I modify the blocking section with [ "installation_mode": "blocked", ], then I only get the force installed plugins and I can't do anything else. It even removes any previously installed themes or plugins not explicitly forced in. The allowed plugins can't be installed either.

I have also tried it without the "extensions" allowed_type but the result did not change. To recap, I need to block any extensions not explicitly pushed or allowed. Would anyone be able to assist and point out what I may be missing please?

~Regards

Hi Dear support mozila Firefox IT team,

I need to find out if there is an option on the user's computer in the local network, how to connect to the bypass list of the Firefox browser with a hidden version. Which aims to adjust, add and modify without bothering the user to quickly organize the work. If there is an option, please send me a guide.

I am deploying Mozilla Firefox using Intune. The application is deployed no problem but there is always the error in Intune portal. I was told that Mozilla Firefox has custom return codes to indicate post-installation behavior. That is why though the application itself is installed and works properly on the device, Intune portal does not know the status of the installation and gives the error. This error causes a lot of issues to the further application management. Dose any one knows what those codes are? Or maybe can point into the correct direction on how to get them. Thank you.

My organization would like to keep automatic updates for Firefox enabled. However, each update prompts end users to create a new profile. We've provided them with instructions on how to navigate to about:Profiles and find the Firefox profile that has their bookmarks. The same set of instructions then guides them on how to save that profile as their default too. Unfortunately, our end users aren't very good at this and sometimes they have to repeat the process for a few days in a row. Which I assume is due to subsequent Firefox updates, but I'm not sure.

That said, is there anything we can do that'd avoid end users from having to go through this process for every Firefox update?

Hello,

We have set up a GPO in our Active Directory environment for the install of Firefox which works great, however since at least version 90, we have had an issue where Firefox won't uninstall automatically when removing the computer object from the security group associated with the GPO. The box is ticked to "uninstall this application when it falls out of scope of management", which works for every other GPO we have created. The computer removes the assignment of the application, but does not then remove the application as it should.

Are you aware of this issue?

Thanks.

We are working on implementing Firefox for Enterprise and rolling it out through Intune/Company Portal, one challenge we are encountering is that we have disabled Pocket as thoroughly as we can (followed the guide from Mozilla https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-re-enable-pocket-for-firefox) and we are still seeing requests go out to "img-getpocket.cdn.mozilla.net" we do not want Pocket available at all, we do not want queries made to those domains, is it not possible to completely eradicate Pocket?

It wouldn't be a problem but our AV solution (MDE) has a popup every time the URL is queried and blocked.

Attached image of our configuration profile for Pocket.

I'm setting up addon installation through `policy.json`. Below is an example. I am wondering howto configure addons thus installed using the same file. Is it possible? If yes: where to find addon-specific keys/options? As an example: when providing below `policy.json`, starting any fresh firefox profile/installation produces the dialog "Startpage.com - Private Search Engine would like to change your default search engine from Google to Startpage.com - English. Is that OK?", followed by yes/no buttons. I would like to be able to just make the addon do so forgoing the dialog.

Thanks for any pointers.

During a client Audit earlier this week we were dinged on not having the option in Firefox ESR to block manually saving Addresses and Credit Cards. We have the autofill disabled however users can still manually add credit cards and addresses and this poses an issue with our call center agents handling Credit Card info. I'd like to be able to gray out the Saved Addresses and Saved Credit Card boxes so as to prevent agents from manually entering card data into it using a GPO or Registry setting that we can push and apply to all our domain PCs. Ideally, if we could add an entry to the JSON preferences in the Mozilla GPO that would gray those options out that'd be best but any option that removes the users ability to add CC info would be acceptable.
