I haven't updated in quite some time, but finally updated Thunderbird to 115.7.0 (64-bit) on my Mac running Sonoma.

I've never had an issue until just now where any emails archived and stored on Local Folders no longer show any results when searching the Body using ⇧ ⌘ F (Shift, Command and F). Using the same search messages window for anything stored online is fine, but again Local Folders produce no emails even if I open an email, copy and paste a unique word from that email.

Is there something I need to do now to index my local folders and emails so they can search the body of them now (or a way to rebuild the offline email database)?

I have never actively marked emails as threads. I've tried to remove the "threads" function in the folder settings, but it doesn't seem to have helped in some cases. I also need help with getting the email "unstuck" from the thread structure, I have tried "Ignore threads" and "Ignore subthreads" with the result that the email disappeared. Today i found that there is a htm file in my Downloads folder which I haven’t download it. The name is 65k7m58G.htm with zero bytes size. I opened it with notepad and is completely empty. I’ve checked my downloads window in FF (ctrl+j) to see where that file downloaded from but it’s nothing there!

I'm very confused. I've been using Thunderbird as my email server for a few years. Recently, I stopped receiving emails December 12, 2023. I sent in a problem according to the help page that I found. I have Thunderbird, version, 115.6 on my iMac. Up until this morning I have had no problems.

First when I used "Get Messages" this morning it kept telling me there was an error with my server. But after the error was fixed by contacting the server, Thunderbird was no longer able to connect to the server any more. I can send messages ok and they go through but I can't receive them since "Get Messages" no longer works.

My Apple Mail program on my laptop works fine, so the server is back to working properly and I can pick my Thunderbird sent messages there.

How can I get Thunderbird to connect to my server again for incoming messages?

I recently (on the 28th Nov '23) updated TB to the latest version. It was so awful though that I uninstalled it and reinstalled version 60.9.1. However, now my address book is empty. I did have an old csv file which I was able to import, but it's quite old and missing a lot of addresses added more recently. Where did the saved email addresses go? Are they likely to still be out there somewhere? Thanks, Ian

Still waiting for help with my annoying thunderbird problem. Once you help me solve it, my donations will begin. The browser link in my incoming email stopped working about 3 months ago. I have to right click on the link, start my browser manually and paste the link. I've tried it with Firefox, Edge and Chrome (preferred) and none of them work.

I have set up a number of Message Filters to automatically run when new email is recieved. None of the run automatically on new email. This is frustrating on it own however I can’t even run them manually on individual filters for the inbox. I have recently moved to Thunderbird for my primary mail client from Mac Mail and definitely like it better, but filters not working and working perfectly in Mac Mail makes it difficult to switch over completely.

Every time I am trying to search, google is always pinned on my search bar, and I want to get rid of it. How can I remove google? (On the image I marked the issue with a red circle)
