As you can see in the title, Firefox crashes immediately opening, though sometimes it works for a few seconds. I have figured out that it works when I create a windows profile without any association to my Microsoft account, it does actually work, but as soon as I add the Microsoft account to the profile, it crashes. This also happens with Opera GX, but not Chrome.

This has just started happening since I was forced to reinstall windows after a critical failure with my MBR for some reason.

I have all the settings where they should be to prevent websites from continually being logged out when I close Firefox....but each and every time I start up a browser window again...I am asked to sign in again no matter what. I am not so concerned about a majority of them, but I had it so that when my Firefox browser first opened, it went directly to the Google home page and already had me signed into my Google/Gmail account. But now...nope. I have to sign in every. Single. Time!

Right now, I have all my settings marked as I have seen in numerous other posts:

I have made sure that there ARE checks in the boxes for:

• Remember browsing and download history
• Remember search and form history
• Clear history when Firefox closes

And inside the History settings, only the cache is marked to clear every time Firefox closes.

I have made sure that there are NOT checks in the boxes for:

Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed Always use private browsing mode

And inside the History settings, there is no box checked for:

• Browsing & download history
• Active logins
• Form & search history
• cookies
• site settings
• Offline website data

None of the topic discussions about this or any combination of settings have worked for me thus far, and it getting to be quite maddening at this point. I need some help here so that when I open Firefox, I am not constantly logged out of

I can no longer choose where downloads go. I have tried "always ask" but I am getting no where. One post said open the three bars on the right an look for option. NO luck.

I have noticed in a couple of websites, a link or text box does not appear in Firefox, but does in Chrome (unfortunately, I don't remember which site that was). Also I have tried to open my Citibank account (Citibank.com.au) but it comes up with an error and wont open, yet it does with Chrome. I would rather not use Chrome, but I may not have a choice if this problem is not addressed.

Firefox suddenly stopped connecting to internet websites. I use McAfee anti-virus with their firewall. McAfee whitelists Firefox but I removed it from the whitelist and then put it back. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing with no change. I've removed all add-ons. I'm having to use a different browser but I want Firefox back.

I created a folder on my bookmarks toolbar, in there are more folder, entertainment , comparison sites etc. All were connecting up until a few days ago, now if I click on a link, it just does not connect. If I type in the search bar the site address it connects within seconds.

For years I’ve had no difficulty accessing online my HSBC bank accounts in UK using Firefox. In recent days they have changed their security access method whereby their site now requests a security number generated on one’s phone using the HSBC App (it used to be a random number from an HSBC supplied handheld device) which then has to be input via my Windows 10 PC to access my data. If I use Microsoft Edge as browser, everything works fine, but when I try Firefox my system just hangs after I’ve put my bank ID into the HSBC opening page (the first security step) and simply never opens the next HSBC page which would ask me to generate the said code on my phone. Seems a browser related problem. Any ideas why Edge works but Firefox does not?

I am trying to use a new HP Spectre laptop which will be my all purpose home computer. I selected Firefox Browser as the default browser but I don't believe it has ever come up as my browser. It is loaded among many other apps (?). I used to call them programs (?). I get Edge, Chrome, Bing, and others, none of which I want or ask for. They just seem to appear randomly.

I download then open many student files each day. PDFs open fine automatically, but never Word files. In the Applications settings dialog, I have tried to choose the file format docx and doc. But neither are recognised as a valid file type. I realise that Microsoft is a bully and Mozilla may be trying to discourage its use, but I and the students are stuck with Word. How come docs and doc are invalid and how can I persuade Firefox to open them?

Hello, I have encountered a lasting issue: Firefox' telemetry collection process causes a cmd window to pop up briefly. The windows sometimes lingers a split second later, and if I accidentally click it at that time, whatever program I'm in will get minimized and I'm back on the desktop with cmd window at front. You might want to have a look at that, I disable my telemetry for time being. Firefox version is 99.0.1 (64 bits), operating system is Win10 10.0.19043. Respond for other data you might need. I currently installed firefox but when I try to open it it shows a missing of the profile which I searched and the article said to make another profile by using window + r and I did but when I click on start firefox it shows an unexpected error prevented you to save changes and I searched abt this but this has no answer that is in my favour so can you help it would be great

I opened Firefox as usually, but passwords are missing, only logins are available. There is also a file called logins.json-1.corrupt in the profile folder.

Renaming it back to logins.json with restarting the computer does not work.

There are no previous versions of these two files available in the system.

Please let me know how I can recover passwords, may be with a special software.

something new-- I can't sign in to my att account like I always have. I can still log in on older win 7 and android devices. Only this win10 desktop is now having problems today. Any suggestions?

I use Kaspersky for my internet security. I choose the 'Safe Money' option for many other sites...but cannot connect sign on with my bank. Because the page always comes up asking for me to choose a browser. I down load and update the firefox site. This does nothing except giving me multiple firefox updates! What is happening and how can I stop having this issue pop up? The other sites on 'Safe Money' are not banking sites, but still need security. Do I have to change browsers?
