My wife & I have the same PCs running Windows 10 & Thunderbird 115.11.0 (32bit).

We have a hosted web-site that also supports email, and we each have an email account (eg neddy@goon.com.au & minnie@goon.com.au). I've checked that both our POP server configurations are identical but despite that about once a week minnie@goon.com.au receives a warning to add security exception but neddy doesn't. This started happening two weeks ago after a years error free running.

The host has checked that goon.com.au has a valid SSL certificate, so what could be causing the discrepancy and how do I set about fixing it please?

the only autoplay setting i can find is under privacy and security. the page shows DEFAULT FOR ALL WEBSITES: Block Audio and Video, but videos still open and play. the page does not retain the change when i select the button REMOVE ALL WEBSITES. this problem has not been happening for years. it may have begun about six months ago. thank you for your time

A while ago my long-time hotmail account stopped working on two computer with windows 10 and one with windows 11. Last night, I looked up an article that said I have to use Oauth2 instead of normal pw. I made that change on the windows 11 machine and a popup occurred that wanted the number from the google authenticator on my phone. I gave it that and it checks mail now just fine.

This morning I went to one of the Windows 10 machines and did exactly the same. I tried some different server names online and tried some, but after a while I started getting a little window that asked my email address and pw. I put my hotmail address in and got this message:

Microsoft Accounts or personal email addresses don’t work here. Make sure you enter your work or school account (e.g. user@contoso.com). If you want to reset a Microsoft Account password, click here.

Now this is the very same hotmail email that worked on windows 11 with the same server settings last night. It still works.

Now, on the windows 10 machine with those same settings, I get the blank extra window. The extra window appears, does not populate, and disappeared.

I had no opportunity to do what worked on the windows 11 machine just last night. I cannot check mail on hotmail on this windows 10 pc. I took all the updates available to Thunderbird and firefox. TB is 115.11.1

I'm stopped. Why would it work on one pc and not another? Oauth2 on the windows 11 asked for authenticator. On the windows 10 it never asks.

I'm hoping to get some help with disabling the Insecure connection password warning in Firefox version 115.11.0.

In previous versions, I could disable this warning through the about:config settings. However, I couldn't find the specific setting (security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled) that was mentioned in some online resources.

I understand the security risks involved in disabling these warnings, and I only intend to do this on a trusted website on my local network.

Could you please advise on the best approach for achieving this in Firefox 115.11.0, or any alternative solutions to manage insecure connection warnings for trusted local sites?

I just lost several hundred tabs on Firefox mobile right after it updated itself. The most recent tabs show only ten of those tabs, which were all opened and closed today and aren't part of what I need to restore.

How do I get my tabs back? I've seen no 'restore previous session' option. My laptop only shows the few I have open now. What do I do to restore them?

The mail server responded: Spam detected by content scanner. Message rejected (ID 665754780026FB52). Please check the message and try again."

My ISP insists the problem is not with their server, and I need to have Mozilla correct it.

I use firefox (as mozilla) for decades ago. Never had issues, is super easy, fast and ...secure (?) A hacker last week have access on my Firefox, download ALL my saved passwords as CSV... as a plain TEXT and ATTACKS on my entire life!!! And the nightmare goes on and on... Stole my primary Google Account, Facebook, Instagram, Ubisoft, PayPal, Microsoft Account.... and other 20 sites beside this. For GOD sake, didn't you EVER think to place an extra security layer on this EXTREMELY SENSITIVE details??? A master password? 2FA or something else? Are you serious??? I'm so sorry BUT YOU'RE LOST MY TRUST!!!! Period!!! Give a change to your selves and PROTECT YOUR CUSTOMERS!

I have an issue trying to configure a secondary email account, for a non-profit I do some work for. It was ok in the past, though I recall was tricky to set up on TB a couple of years ago. But now it has ceased to function after I migrated TB profile (successfully apart from this issue) no matter what I try. I’d be grateful for any suggestions. As is the case with many non-profits, there’s little tech support, but others can use the email account ok. I think it may be a TB issue as I have been able to set up the account ok with MS new Windows Outlook app (lame, but better than Mail…low bar). I’d rather have this account on my TB client along with the others I use. And the issue is replicated on two of my PCs. TB account set up reports “can’t detect settings from host server”. I found a support thread link text, which says “The failure to detect settings is rather common where hosted domains are concerned. Mostly because everything is done to a price and most of the things around encryption are done in a halfhearted manner. As is the server setups for mail. However by faithfully copying the settings from the provider as to domains server name and ports it should work.” So I did manual configuration – copied the settings from the successful Outlook set up, but no dice – all I get is server time out message. Settings are: IMAP server: mail.XXXX.org.uk Port 993 Security SSL/TLS [earlier working settings were STARTTLS port 143] SMTP server: mail.XXXX.org.uk Port 465 Security SSL/TLS [[earlier working settings were STARTTLS port 587] And using Normal Password for both; I tried Autodetect too but no good. I’ve see a suggestion that turning off the firewall (Norton) might work, but I’m reluctant to do that and doesn’t seem to make sense that would cause the issue. I found another suggestion that apparently works for some people - leaving password blank on setup. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1399690. Authentication Failure with Gmail

One of my two gmail accouns has suddenly become impossible to access (cannot receive, cannot send). T'Bird produces an Authentication has Failed notification, after a Google Window headed "Sign in to Mozilla Thunderbird Email" which refuses to go away. Clicking on the 'help' or 'privacy' options in that google window produces no more than a blank window but then "Sign in to Mozilla Thunderbird Email" reappears a few minutes later. My other gmail account doesn't have this problem, so I assume it's not gmail but it's T'Bird.

What's going on?

(BTW signing into this Support resulted in an email "New sign-in to Mozilla Support" warning "New sign-in to Mozilla Support to Firefox on Windows 10". Trouble is, I'm on Windows 11. Trivial maybe, but telling maybe.)
