I have my inboxes set to display new messages at the top. When I open an inbox, Thunderbird scrolls to SHOW new messages, highlighted in bold, at the top. Or it used to.

Recently this behavior has become inconsistent. When I look at Thunderbird, one of my inboxes may show that there are new messages. So I click on the inbox, but no new messages appear in my list of e-mails. I then have to manually scroll up to see them.

Something definitely changed here.

I can see the case where maybe I've selected an old e-mail message WAAAY down the list. In that case Thunderbird should probably open to that point. Usually, if a message is selected, it's near the top. If that message AND newly arrived messages can be displayed on the same page, Thunderbird should scroll to the top and show me new messages.

Is this a setting that can be set?

Hello, I want to add a secondary email to my Mozilla account. I have looked at the help page but can't get the first step of the instructions to work. See image 1 below.

This is the only "Burger" I can see, and I am Signed In to Support. See image 2 below.

This Menu does not have an option for "Manage Account"

Hi, in my settings Firefox is set to "remember history", but there are no options for how long and when i look into my history, it doesn't go back further than a year. I found a few answers to this on some forums talking about the places.history.expiration.max_pages setting and others about the places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages setting but those don't exist in my Firefox and the threads are more than a decade old. I currently have version 126.0.1 64bit on Linux. How can i keep my history forever?

When I delete an email it immediately diseappears from the view, but if I have the "Unread" filter active and I mark an email as "read" it remains there until I switch the "Unread" filter off and then on again. Quite impractical to me.

As described in [question] I am unable to install addons in Thunderbird: when attempting to install an addon, either via the in-app browser or via a file, a pop-up window appears for which "Add" and "Cancel" buttons do nothing (there is no way to move or remove the window without killing the process).

I am opening this question as this problem still persists over a year and many versions later.

I've created a search folder to contain 'starred' emails but the folder doesn't show a badge count. Is this a setting somewhere or is it not supported?

Drop-down suggestions a clever function, but entirely unwelcome in my universe. How to prohibit those?

The problem in DuckDuckGo search is that one cannot readily edit the original search word/phrase, as the suggestions take over that area; can't do a quick LnUp or LnDn, can't do a quick LeftArrow or RightArrow if a correction is needed -- the suggestions just decide to bully their way in at every inopportune opportunity.

I've changed whatever settings in Duckville that I can find, but it doesn't care what I need or think. I've changed the Firefox Search settings but that doesn't make any difference.

Any information/assistance out there?

I'm looking for a message filter function that will wait a specified period of time before performing what the rest of the filter does whatever it is tasked to do. For instance, I want to have an incoming message sit in the inbox until it moves to a local folder some time later. This would allow me to see it from a device that can't see local folders (like a mobile phone). I can't find anything in extensions. Any thoughts?

Every time I enable Light theme for taskbar it becomes disabled & reverts back to Dark Theme. This is not great for my eyesight. Why does Firefox force dark theme?

I only wish to sort email only from known vs. unknown domain sources into different folders. Is there a method to filter messages from @AnyDomainName where the domain is NOT found in entries of my address book? Specifically, this method would ignore the Sender Name and only scrutinize the domain.

I'm wondering why FF doesn't have something built into the browser that will resize text when you zoom in. Right now, if I zoom in on text, it DOES get larger, but then it also goes outside the edges of the browser so that I have to constantly scroll left and right to read the article I did come across an add on, but come on. I often copy a link from web, then open Thunderbird to send that link. Thunderbird will not accept the 'paste' until I have gone back to the source, copied again and returned to the (now opened) Thunderbird. Annoying and inefficient! How can I get Thunderbird to allow 'paste' from my clipboard on the first try?

I cannot copy anything from the Firefox browser. Copying works in every other application on my PC. Running Windows 11 Home and Firefox 126.0.1 (64 bit). I can copy things from other applications such as wordpad or Chrome and paste them into Firefox, but as I said, cannot copy anything from Firefox itself. Highlighting text in Firefox gives me the option to copy it, but when I do that and then try to paste it elsewhere, the paste option is grayed out. I have already tried a refresh of Firefox and a complete uninstall and reinstall. This issue has persisted for months, but today was the day I set aside time to fix it, and thus far I have failed. Please help me restore full functionality to Firefox!

I am unable to have autofill at all, every guide will direct me to somewhere in the settings that does not exist. Do I need to download a seperate add on?

I've tried downloading 2 different add-ons to replace loaded words in newspaper articles with more accurate ones. However, they are useless unless I can specify which words to replace. There used to be an option to edit settings for a particular add-on in about:addons, but it has vanished. Where can it be found now?

I started using Firefox on my Macbook after only having used it on my Razer for awhile. On my Razer (so far) I've had no (new) issues with Dark Mode, but on my Macbook, the Firefox browser is always in dark mode when I search Google. It does not impact other sites (not even this one, where I'm typing this, or any of the other pages where I've looked for a fix). I have had this issue consistently with Firefox across mobile, my Razer, my old Windows computer, my Macbook, and everywhere I want to use it. In the past, changing the theme, going into the config settings (which I hate doing and am trying to avoid this time around), or using the Firefox Color custom themes have worked. I even checked my Google settings, and Dark Mode is completely disabled for search. So I know it's a Firefox issue.

Is there a permanent, consistent solution to just completely disable dark mode? I am never going to want to use it, and I am tired of having to go through some version of this every time I try to use Firefox on Mac -- especially since this time none of my normal workarounds are actually working.

I'd eat nails before using Chrome, but I am extremely frustrated.

For the past many months (possibly a year), the mobile to desk top view setting never stays ON as default. If I leave my email page (while in desk top view), go to another tab & come back even 2 mins later, my email's right back to the mobile view again! I've even tried to switch the setting (in the menu) back to mobile view to reset it, but it just won't reset. The desk top view icon stays turned on & won't turn off, however, the site stays in mobile view. The only way I can reset this & turn the desk top view back on, is to close out my email & reopen it, then tap the setting back on again (& just don't leave the tab)! I have searched "high n low, everywhere" for help on this issue for a long time, however, not even on the FF site, can I find ANY article what so ever about this setting! And yes I "have" cleaned out cache, uninstalled, reinstalled etc... I do believe I have sent in a few support requests in the past (don't recall where or how lol), but never get a reply. I also remember being directed to the "submit a bug report" page but, haha, yeah, I have no idea how to do that, it all looks very foreign to me lol! Is there any way for this to be fixed in an update, or even on my end? Are any others having this issue...?

I would greatly & sincerely appreciate any help if possible?! I've been using FF for "many" years & really don't wish to change!
