I added two new email accounts to my Thunderbird installation (140.12.1esr (64-bit) under Windows 10), and am able to receive and send mail just fine. But the T-bird Search utility doesn't work for those accounts. I can do a Search for an email address, subject, etc. that's showing on my screen for those accounts, but the Search utility comes up empty. Search does work for three other accounts, however. Any ideas?

Hello! I appreciate many niceties of the 148 update, but i'm having an issue resulting in many more tabs on Android mobile than I usually generate. When I search something and then want to sesrch the same query again using a different search engine (by selecting a different search engine from the tab bar menu) a new tab opens, leaving the query via the previous search engine open, and the current query of the current search engine in a new tab with focus. I'm aware that this behavior can be modified on desktop, but there is no such setting for android.

I would really love for this behavior to be reverted or optional, as it's made it so I need to clear out many tabs of duplicate queries (on different sesrch engines) and it makes me avoid using the built-in search engine switcher to prevent generating more tabs :( (which sucks because I have like 10+ custom searches and they're very useful!)

Team Mozilla: *please* fix this likely unintended change in the next update.

Hello, It's very annoying that when I type a word or a sentence into the search bar, the only option I have is to delete what I've written. There aren't any other options available, like "go" button, I have to use my keybord for that. Cheers!

In Firefox for PC you can add a search item to the address item in the toolbar.

This is necessary for adding a search engine using the Search Engine Search Tool from Mycroft Project (former Mozilla Mycroft Project: https://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.php )

When you have selected a search engine for being added to the search engfine list you can use the down arrow in the search item for selecting the new search engine for being added.

Using Mycroft Project for adding search engines is a genuinely better and more effective way of searching and adding search engines than the manual method in the settings/search/alternative search engines/add search engine menu. On PC i have been using it for years.

Doing so is not possible using the address item because the down arrow is not there anymore when you have chosen a location, Therefore the additional search item is necessary.

Unfortunately the toolbar cannot be customized on android like on a PC. And i have found no other way to add a search item to the toolbar or in a second line of the toolbar.

PS: I have also tried to execute the HTML code for adding a search engine from Mycroft Project.

The source code was displaied on the Firefox screen but it had no effect on the search engine list.
No error message or sucess message was displaied.

Edited on Firefox on PC: 153.0 (64-bit)

Change request is for Firefox AS: 152-.0.1 OS: Android 16

I have Brave set as default search engine. I type in the address bar, hit enter, and always get a Brave screen with "404 Nothing matches the given URI". I downloaded the Brave browser and the problem goes away. But I prefer Firefox as my browser, so I'm hoping there is an easy fix to this.

Recent builds have changed the way that the user can direct queries to the various search engines that can be added (i.e. eBay, Wikipedia, IMDB etc) - to a new configuration that is awkward and forces more clicks.

Here is the method that currently allows reverting to the previous approach :

in about:config

Set string "browser.search.widget.new: to false

... and to delay automatic deletion of engines set "browser.search.widget.removeAfterDaysUnused" to thousands

Posting this for increased visibility for folks encountering the issue and in the hopes that Mozilla will consider not degrading a well-performing interaction pattern
