Was on version 115, had this problem. Updated to version 155, same problem. One of the email accounts I set up on Thunderbird is redacted1@lake48.net, registered with 123-Reg. However, this is a forwarding address and has no email server, which is why I am getting the error now.

Messages addressed to redacted1@lake48.net are forwarded to redacted2@lake48.net, which does have a server, My system was to download from there and use a rule to divert the incoming message to my redacted1@lake48.net Inbox. This has worked OK until now. Thunderbird gives me this error right at the start and then does not respond, so I cannot get in to investigate account settings, and cannot access emails in other accounts such as gmail. 123-Reg has today changed its system, assuring me I don't need to change anything. Clearly I do, but I can't get in to change it.

What should I do to resolve this? I have no other access to my emails.

I was having problems with my chromebook. when I start my chromebook and i click on the thunderbird icon it doesn't open ! I have restored my chrombook and reinstalled thunderbird again but the problem is still there. The only way to access thunderbird is to open linux and type in thunderbird and then i have access to thunderbird once I turn off my chromebook and then reopen it once again thunderbird is not working !

I mostly watch YouTube channels on Firefox on my laptop, but recently have had to change over to Microsoft Edge browser to watch YouTube. The reason is that during a channel stream, when an ad wants to play, YouTube and Firefox freeze and the only way to exit the screen is to either attempt to close YouTube or even open Task Manager to shut down all instances of the Firefox software. Firefox is by far my preferred browser and I'm frustrated that it is unusable in its current state. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, but this did not work. Thank you in advance for your help.

Since 3rd September 2026 Thunderbird opens a system integration window and then goes to not responding. I cannot access my emails through this software at all at the moment as there's no way past his pop up. Version 153.1.1, Windows 11 Home.

Running Windows 10 (have extended security updates). Starting at version 153.0 Firefox hangs (spinning cursor) until Windows realizes it is not responding and lets me stop the program. Seems to be independent of the website (even happened on a Mozilla page). Have tried a couple of 153.xx updates and also 154 but behaves the same. On a Dell Inspiron 7570:

Hi, Firstly, thank you for all your services.

When working in a tab, Whatsapp, Youtube, or even Buzilla when I want to report this, the tab just crash's. Sometimes I can restore it immediately, but other times if I click on "Restore this tab" repeatedly, the whole window crash's!

Starting today, Thunderbird freezes during the "loading messages" process. I get a Windows hourglass and Windows tells me Thunderbird is "not responding."

Task Manager shows TB running but not taking up very many CPU cycles.

I suspect a damaged database, but what do I know?

Each of the tabs above is an email/message that was open the last time I ran TB.

I have no control over TB as it 'spins.'

I cannot find my TB version because TB is frozen. But it is fairly recent.

I need help.

I have been using Thunderbird for years with no problems. However recently, Thunderbird very often simply stops responding. Sometimes it just hangs up and sometimes the program bar at the top displays "Mozilla Thunderbird (Not Responding)". If I try to wait for it to respond, it literally hangs for several minutes before it begins to respond again, and often, it simply never starts responding again. It has simply gotten to the point where Thunderbird is practically unusable. All my other application software continues to work with no problems. It's just Thumderbird.

The version number in this submission may not be correct. I can't provide the real version number because of the hangups.

Any suggestions?

Hi, I have been a Thunderbird user for many years and have over 16,000 emails in my account.

Today when I launched TB it comes up with blank screen with No Response on the top left. See screen shot image upload.

I have tried launching with Thunderbird -P and it only shows default account named default.

- other places show 3 accounts with one having -release

--Users\myuserID\local\Thunderbird\profiles:

   9qflpwnsdefault
   8593y64.default-release
   fsomy6as.default

--Users\myuserID\AppData\Roaming\profiles\ shows the 3 listed above.

I have tried launching Windows 11 in Safe Mode, same issue. I have tried the Troubleshoot Tool with same result.

Any ideas on how I can get TB to load correctly and show me my emails?

Hello, we have a DLL product that is injected into Firefox, and it generally works properly. However, from time to time, we encounter crashes like this in individual tabs.

Could you please help us understand what might be causing these crashes?

Thunderbird (current version) freezes each time an email is closed and when it does so, it freezes the entire computer. Computer: MacBook Pro 16"; Tahoe 26.2. The freeze last for 2-5 seconds before it releases.

My tablet (Lenovo P11 running Android 11) crashes completely (as in completely freezes not allowing me to do anything else), when opening certain websites (1 out of 3 times) including but not limited to instagram.com profile pages. I believe crash reports were never sent or could be sent, as my entire device has crashed.

As for more I formation, I had these extensions running: 1. U-Block origin 2. ClearURLs 3. Dark Reader 4. Video Background Play Fix 5. Chrome Mask (but was deactivated mode)

This crash happened 5 times now (out of the 10 to 15times I have opened these sites).

I have for the time being installed Fennec (with only Ublock, clearurls extensions running). There has been no crash yet.

I would like to confirm why those crashes were caused. Here are some of the reason I believe: 1. I am using an old Android device. 2. I was using multiple extensions incompatible with the webpage. 3. Combination of both.

If there could be other reasons please do state them.

Running Thunderbird 140.14.0esr under Linux on a Chromebook. Have tried several times to move messages from Inbox to other folders and each time TB shuts down. When I restart it has an extra blank tab. I am able to move items using the Move To menu but that's tedious. It appears there was an update 18 August but the issue just started today. There have also been recent updates to Chrome but I've done all the shut downs/restarts called for.

Mozilla Thunderbird stopped responding, tried to shut down, restart, uninstall and install - nothing helps Still opens the window, but no messages white backgoround and (Not Responding)

Since upgrading my MacBook Pro to Tahoe 26.6.2, I notice that Thunderbird continually crashes when I open it. I've tried closing Thunderbird after each check of email, and I think that helps (at least a little).

I'm a Professional Web Designer, and I need to make a lot of meeting through Google Meet. I was using Chrome previously. When I try to use my Web Cam, Firefox completely crush my web cam. Means, no other apps can't use the web cam including Meet until I pull the flag out of my PC's USB port.

The only fix is to disable hardware acceleration. But I need that as well. So chating Gemini, I figured out that changing this rule media.windows-media-foundation.allow-d3d11-dxva to false on about:config fixes the issue with having Hardware Acceleration enabled.

It turns out that, according to some reddit uses, Firefox uses API from medieval age for handling DirectX3d.

I love Firefox, and I want it to grow nowadays more than ever by looking at the browser market and what they are doing with Ad Blockers. Please take a look at Firefox's performance for the good.

My System: OS: Windows 11 Pro CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 270k Plus GPU: NVIDIA 5070 TI 16GB No shortage of SSD and Ram. Plenty of them available.

Can Firefox work on that issue, so I don't have to go to workaround like this? I love Firefox and I want it to compete with chromium for good. But having issues like this left us no option but to choose alternative.
